Bio
The Old Days is an American pop band that blends modern electronics with rock and organic elements. In 2013 Scott Chesak (touring musician for The All-American Rejects, Lea Michele, and Christina Perri) received a call from his longtime friend Marcus Brown (Bobby Jealousy, Auroravore) asking if he was interested in collaborating. With Chesak based out of Los Angeles and Brown living in Austin, they formed a pen pal musical relationship, writing numerous songs together via email. Things escalated with in-person writing sessions whenever and wherever they could, once even in Brown’s cupcake delivery van. Open and honest communication about their experiences with relationships, self-discovery, and love allows them to dip into a common pool of expression that inspires their music. The subject matter is accented by evocative instrumentation filled with dynamic rhythm, cinematic textures, and eccentric tones. Both members share lead vocal duties, usually in the same song, allowing their voices to shine individually when at the forefront or create rich layers when in harmony. Brown’s soft airiness soars while Chesak’s powerful belt permeates through compelling production. They are now set to release their self-titled debut EP in April 2015 with the first single “Come Take My Heart”.
