"Sounds: The Dog Indiana // God Bless The Pagans"

The Dog Indiana‘s “God Bless The Pagans” is an angry indie trip down memory lane. I had this crappy, beat-to-hell Volvo in high school and I absolutely hated it at the time. I hated my school, my town, my car, my skinny toothpick legs, everything except my friends. It felt like they felt just about the same way. So, needless to say, we were disgruntled and dissatisfied.

The Dog Indiana has that exact sound. They went back and captured the kind of frustration only a teenager can feel, just to remind us where we came from. It will always be a part of who we are, even if we’re older, and wiser, and far less disgruntled and dissatisfied with life. There’s a little part left of our fire (expressed all the time and at nearly anyone) that’s still left in our hearts.

And I FUCKING LOVE when a band can bring it out of me. It’s all the good high without any of the shitty, actually being 18 part.

They’re from Victoria, BC. They’re ornery. They fucking rock. - Left Bank Magazine

Bio

A hard-hitting and dynamic grunge/noise trio sure to keep you guessing. Based out of Victoria, BC, The Dog Indiana have built a reputation by fitting into all sort of pockets within the music scene ranging from the underground punk scene, up-and-coming indie acts, to going toe to toe with metal groups.
Deriving influences from the likes of Pavement, Fugazi, and more contemporary groups like Metz, their sound ebbs and flows with unique force and fluidity. They are sure to put on an engaging live performance roaring with gripping riffs, driving drums and wicked walls of bass. All this is apparent in their debut album Fracture, Murky and Liquid. An eight song LP cleverly crafted with lyrics and themes that reflect on ongoing personal and social dysfunctions. They have collaborated with local film makers and paired two singles along with some wild music videos. Their local success has allowed them to open for bands like Single Mothers, Mean Jeans and has granted them a spot at Massif Fest 2019. With an EP in the works and plenty more shows lined up, The Dog Indiana is quickly becoming a name to watch out for.
