The Beautiful Discord is a four-piece Christian Modern Rock and Worship Band from Louisville, KY with members Jonathan Jackson (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keys), Richard Apsley (Guitar), Connor Reed (Bass) and Evan Dawson (Drums). Recently contracted to play at LifeWay Fuge camps this summer out in California for 2 months in 2014 playing and leading for 3000-4000 people. The Beautiful Discord joins LifeWays roster of nationally known worship bands and Christian artists such as Rush of Fools, Matt Papa, The Museum and The Robbie Seay Band. Their songs consist of moving, emotional verses and epic and expansive choruses that point the reality that there is something bigger and greater than us. The sound is bright, energetic and hopeful, with big guitars and explosive drums. There new EP Refuge will be released on April 22nd and available through iTunes and all other major online distributors.
Jonathan says: "The song Refuge was written from my own trials and sturggle over the past 3 years. In the midst of sorrow and heartbreak God is there. Scripture tells us that God is "near to the brokenhearted" and that even in our weakness God is strong and present in our broken circumstances and situations. The song "refuge", which also happens to be the title of their new record is based off of Psalm 46 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,"

Our heart is to see lives changed and broken hearts healed by the power of God's Word. Our hope is to only be used by God as a vehicle for this transformation. Our music is hopeful because we have a hope in an all-powerful and mighty king. We want people to experience and know that same hope through our music!
