Fashion photographer Rankin has his images sketched over by illustrator Jo Bird in this fashionably sexy new ad campaign for the French Connections (FCUK) Autumn Winter Collection.
The campaign, "From Sketch to Store" features models Milou, Georgia and Harvey who tastefully have their nude images sketched over with fashion designs from the 2013 collection and set to the music of The Beaches song "Loner". - Great Ads Blogspot
Tonight proved to be a raucous one in NW5 as Rankin’s creative agency, Full Service, hosted its very first (of many, we’re sure) party in conjunction with French Connection to launch the AW13 campaign, Sketch to Store. The campaign was the first produced by Full Service, who masterminded the idea and saw it through from conception to completion.
The night got off to a loud start as Canadian newbies The Beaches took to the stage to perform a collection of hits, including ‘Loner’, the track used in the Sketch to Store campaign ad. Following this, revelers including Mr. Hudson, Laura Whitmore, Zara Martin and star of the campaign, Harvey Newton Haydon knocked back Pimms and Proseco in front of ten foot naked cut outs of the campaign models, dressed in nothing but their sketches. We’ll raise a glass to that.

Rankin has collaborated with French Connection for a campaign called #sketchtostore. He actually shot the models nude (ooooh!), but by the time the images had made it up onto the walls, the clothing had been sketched on top by a clever illustrator! So there was a party. Jamie Laing, Francis Boulle and Cheska Hull joined Ben Hudson and Laura Whitmore at Rankin Photography Studios for mini burritos, tacos and a live performance from The Beaches. For all the camera-hungry, there was even a mini photoshoot to pout for. And no, before you ask, it wasn't a nude one... - Tatler - UK

That band you hear once and think are pretty good, but then find yourself humming their tunes later that night. Their songs are hooky, maybe a little angsty, and completely danceable (or moshable, depending on your preference).
Does it make it that much more awesome that they are only in highschool? Well, yeah. But they also play super good, rock-steady music that has an anthemic, rough edge. Like Japandroids, but with slightly more pop. - BlogTo

Bio
The Beaches – named after the area of Toronto where they live, but they appreciate the accidental pun – are good girls gone great. The four piece are comprised of sisters Jordan and Kylie Miller, plus their school friends Eliza Enman McDaniel and Leandra Earl. Proud teen pioneers of the new wave of fem-rock, happily embracing comparisons to another sister fronted girl group – Haim, their sassy, saw-toothed alt-rock songs writhe, snarl and spit the kind of romantic defiance, youth rebellion and peer solidarity that makes them such a formidable force for rock.
When The Beaches were unveiled at the start of 2013 – an edgy, dangerous gang of lascivious outsiders - they were a revelation. Their songs had a contemporary punk pop punch, an acerbic new wave cool and the odd alt-LA hook that helped their music flip from snarly to sunny as their whims dictated.
The Beaches have charged into 2014 all guitars blazing with a three week tour of the UK, where they supported ex Distillers front woman Brody Dalle, and the release of their second EP, Heights, which was self produced and self released on May 5th.
“Heights” follows The Beaches 2013 self-titled, debut EP and showcases the growth of the band whilst recalling sounds of The Strokes, Elastica, The White Stripes, and The Runaways – all helping to further strengthen their fan base and prove to any remaining skeptics that while these girls may look young, their musical prowess is anything but.
