Now something new--and quite special--from TenString Serenade: the departure. Material written and performed by two young artists, Alex Hollums and Karla Dietmeyer (with help from some talented friends). Fine guitar work, beautiful fiddling, gorgeous vocals. Hollums and Dietmeyer and producer Brent Bouthiller do it all. The up-tempo cuts (nuovo giorno and nova) are especially fetching. Title song is stunning. This music is two parts country, one part spiritual, three parts improv. Immensely enjoyable.

Bio
TenString Serenade is a fresh new acoustic duo, made up of Karla Dietmeyer on violin, and Alex Hollums on guitar. We are both freshman in college, one in Iowa and the other in Georgia, and have been playing together for almost two years. It started with a song on YouTube and a mutual friend - one thing led to another and we spent our senior year of high school playing small shows in coffee shops and writing music till 12 am on school nights. We come from totally different backgrounds, but 14 years of classical violin training paired with 2 years of self-taught passion has created a whole new world for the both of us. Our music is simple and beautiful; based on improvisation and strong emotions, these tracks reveal almost everything about our lives, our personalities, and our story.
