"Beyond Death Metal: A look at the Norwegian music scene"

Team Me: Perhaps my favorite new find from Norway was a very young band introduced to me by their manager Thomas. The band blends eclectic influences ranging from Sufjan Sufjans’ instrumentation and harmonies to the Local Natives multi-memeber gang percussion to the Postal Service’s lyrics content and ethos. Check out the track “Weathervanes and Chemicals” below. - http://apesontape.com/

"Who To See: Industry tips on Norwegian acts at Øya 2010"

t times Team Me's cutesy twee-isms can get a bit grating but they're on the list purely for new single, 'Weathervanes and Chemicals', which is really, really rather wonderful. Pitched somewhere inbetween Jonsi and Arcade Fire, it's about as heart-warmingly lush as it gets.

Bio

If you believe bloggers and journalists all around the world, Team Me is one of the hottest newcomers of 2011. And it all started out as an accidental success when Marius Hagen and his private, little side project Team Me ended up in a Norwegian national radio-battle for new and unsigned bands. Marius quickly had to get a band together and Team Me made their live debut in January 2010 at the finals of the contest. Marius little secret is not so easy to hide anymore. The world seems to fall in love with this little indieband and their rich orchestrated music and unique live shows.

Still surprised by the attention the band started doing live shows and releasing singles, which led into the Team Me EP that was released the winter of 2011 on Propeller Recordings to great reviews. The EP is currently # 92 on the American CMJ top 200 lists.

Team Me have the last year played a lot of concerts at events like The Great Escape in Brighton, Club NME in London, Spot festival in Denmark and numerous festivals in Norway including two years in a row at yafestivalen in Oslo. The band have also been supporting for The Wombats and British Sea Power on tours in the UK and Norway.

While awaiting the international release of the bands debut album the winter of 2012, Team Me will keep on touring this fall, and they will also will play their first shows on the European mainland this fall.Team Me will play ore than 50 shows this autumn only, including new support dates for The Wombats, and appearances at festivals such as Reperbahnfestival, Berlin Indiependent Nights and Iceland Airwaves.
