US ARMY VETERAN EARNS HIS STRIPES IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.
Fayetteville NC native Travis L. Brown (who goes by the rap name T-Bro) recently received the honor of being named Finalist by Song of the Year (http://www.songoftheyear.com/) songwriting contest. Song of the year is an international songwriting contest supporting VH-1’s Save the Music Foundation. The Song of the Year judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners.
Song of the Year is excited to recognize Travis for his exceptional songwriting ability for the song “We’ll Stay True”. Travis competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor. When asked what inspired the song Travis commented “Since I am known for telling stories, and speaking out about politics and problems in the world today, I mainly wanted to show that I can make a feel good party song as well. He also said “My main goal was to show that If you are really talented, cursing and disrespectful quotes are not necessary to make a party song that people will want to listen to.
Currently Travis is concentrating on his songwriting/producing career while hoping to get a major record deal in the near future. Travis commented “I have the talent, the drive, the work ethic, and a true love for music. “I feel that all I have to do is be in the right place at the right time, and some lucky record label will be very pleased that they heard me before anyone else did”

Bio
Though he was informed several times by his high school peers that he would become a famous rapper someday…T-Bro then known as Kool-T paid it no mind at all. After graduating High School sadly things did not work out as this talented rapper had planned. Finally T-Bro realized that he had hit rock bottom and it was time for a major change. On October 2, 2000 T-Bro enlisted in the United States Army.
For some odd reason after graduating high school, music did not seem to be too important to him anymore. Once T-Bro landed in Iraq that all changed immediately. Not knowing whether or not he would make it home alive T-Bro picked up his pen and started writing lyrics like never before. That is where T-Bro’s Debut album T-BroWisdom (Inner Truth) began. After returning from the war zone and returning to Europe, T-Bro connected with a talented producer (that happened to be in the same company as him) and started recording. A few months later T-Bro’s album was complete.
After making a name for himself in Europe by performing in several shows in Germany (since he chose not to re-enlist in the service) it was time for T-Bro to fly back to his hometown Fayetteville North Carolina.
Wasting no time at all, once he landed back in America he immediately went to work to regain the respect he had earned in Europe. Not being back for 3 months T-Bro has already won music competitions and is in rotation on one of his local radio stations. Though this versatile rap artist did not want to believe it before, it is very visible that he truly believes it now. With his can do attitude, rare work ethic and true love for music, it is very likely that T-Bro will become a famous rap artist. I think all he needs now is to be in the right place, at the right time. If I am right…the way this artist stays on the grind…it won’t be long at all before this talented rapper will get noticed. It truly won't be long.
