“Not since Barachois stepped off the stage from touring has a gap been filled in Celtic music for comedy. Now the heirs apparent to the mayhem have arrived from the Scots end of the spectrum. The fact [is] that the Tartan Terrors are also excellent musicians above and beyond the laughs…see the Tartan Terrors live.” - Art Ketchen - Celtic Beat Magazine
"They play neat music...the band's sound revolves around...the pipes. They hold back on the percussion, introducing a variety of sounds at different times to good effect. Hey guys, you can really sing - the voices sound great." - Jamie O'Brien - Irish Edition
"...the Tartan Terrors embrace the stage powerfully. The music itself can be labeled as 'traditional', despite that the Terrors inject their style into the compositions. The Terrors could possibly be the hardest working act around at the moment, with shows booked at neck-breaking speed...One act to keep an eye on..." - Edie - Dig This Magazine

"...the Tartan Terrors (are) a no-holds barred..troupe which mixes Highland traditions with modern hijinks and a high degree of contemporary showmanship." - Tom Knapp - Rambles Cultural Arts Magazine

While the Tartan Terrors are the kind of group best experienced live, (their music) is guaranteed to bring a lift to your spirit and a smile to your face." - Genevieve Williams - Earth Tones Magazine
"I've seen the Tartan Terrors and I rank them up there at the very top in music, dance and comedy. This is a show that will leave you smiling long after the performance is over. Don't miss them or you will be missing a memorable event." - Marting Lager - CTV Television

The influence of the Tartan Terrors has gone well beyond the province of Ontario, Canada, where they make their home. Members have performed on over 4 continents and are a high energy phenomena in the United States, having been seen in Los Angeles, NYC, RI, PA, SC, FL, TX, MO, MN, and everywhere in between.
Begun by Ian and Ellen Wilkes Irmisch as a tribute to their late father, the Tartan Terrors bring together a Two-Time World Champion Bagpiper, internationally acclaimed musicians and comedians, and high paced championship caliber highland dancers to create a show that has brought standing room only audiences to every venue they have ever booked. Genieve Williams, Earth Tones Magazine, shouts from the rooftops "...the Tartan Terrors are the kind of group best experienced live..." And it is this panache for rousing audiences of all ages that have propelled the Terrors into forefront of Celtic Music.
Influenced by great traditional musicians and rock and roll favorites, top precision dancers from all over the world, and vaudeville style comedy they aren't just another band. They are a full-tilt experience.
Recently honored with a request to appear on a tribute CD to the late John Allan Cameron, along with Natalie McMaster and Great Big Sea, the musicians of the Tartan Terrors continue to be driven by a desire to push the envelope in Celtic Performance. By bringing together innovative music, dance and comedy the Tartan Terrors seek to give their audiences a high paced experience that appeals to college audiences and seasoned music appreciators.
The Tartan Terrors are also steeped with a tradition of giving back to the community and have raised over $200,000 for charities within North America. A cause close to their heart is Breast Cancer Research, and with a portion of all their CD sales going to this worthy fight, they are truly part of every community they perform in.
