Philanthropist, R&B Singer and Breast Cancer survivor, Tarsha Rodgers doesn’t let life’s disappointments hold her down. She has performed at some of the top clubs in Hollywood including the world famous Whiskey a go-go, and the House of Blues where she was a regular in the Martini Jazz Show. As a new member of Stevie Wonder’s owned KJLH FM-102.3’s performance choir, Tarsha Rodgers is no stranger to the music industry. She has opened for three-time GRAMMY nominee El Debarge and GRAMMY Award-winning R&B singer-songwriter Chrisette Michele at the Key Club and has performed with Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter, Kelly Price at the Savoy “For the Love of R&B” show.
She has even had a small role in the stage play, “Love in a Day” where she also sang an original song she wrote entitled “Love”. She released her debut album, “Still I Rise” in 2014. She wrote all of the songs on the album and the title song is reflective of her battle with Breast Cancer; a battle she is winning.
Tarsha also produces and performs in her annual “A Night of R&B-Save the Tata’s” which honors fellow Breast Cancer Survivors. She is also the CEO and founder of Still I Rise from Cancer Inc., which is a nonprofit that was established to help women fight Cancer with dignity and grace.

Tarsha Rodgers, a native Angelino has always had a love
and appreciation for music which began at an early age. Her first solo was
“Lift Every Voice and Sing” at Mary Clay Nursery school at the age of 4.
As the youngest member of her church
choir, she led many solo’s and directed choirs learning from the best, her
Godmother, the late gospel pioneer, Cora Martin of The Sally Martin singers and
singing with The Los Angeles Gospel Messengers which was founded by the Late
King of Gospel, James Cleveland.
Outside of church, in school, Tarsha was in
many plays and productions such as Grease, Westside Story and Tom Sawyer. At
the age of 19 she was the lead singer of an R&B group Prestige who often
performed at Marla’s Memory Lane owned by Actress Marla Gibbs in Los Angeles.
“Music is my life line, without it I can’t
breathe,” sums up the passion that this up and coming artist displays in her
vocals. Her sultry sound she credits to many influences. Her root of course is
Gospel, but she loves all kinds of music, R&B, Blues, Rock, Jazz and
Classical”. She is focused on R&B/Neo-Soul music, but does not want to be
in a box and feels capable of blending in many genres. Whitney Houston, Patti
Labelle, Aretha Franklin, Lauren Hill, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Price, Faith
Evans, Chaka Kahn and Fantasia are just some of her favorites.

National Anthem at the Bill Picket Rodeo as well as a LA Chargers football game.
Her song Lovers Paradise was nominated for a Hollywood Music and Media Award
for best RnB song. She also sang background for Stevie Wonder in his “Songs in
the Key of Life” Benefit Concert. She
was a back to back 2 year National Anthem Performer of the Los Angeles Chargers
Crucial Catch Game at the request of the owner and she has performed her song
Still I Rise for the Sparks Half-time game.
Tarsha likes to act and she had a

From Cancer, Inc., which helps Cancer patients save their hair. Tarsha Produces
and is the host of LA Talk Radio’s “The Still I Rise Tee Party” show. Her
drive, professionalism, talent and ambition will open many doors for her in the
future and she is prepared to go all the way and be amongst the stars.
