First, this is a great production. The lyrics are strong, instruments are played extremely well, the vocalist has a great late 70's edge. The actual recording has a low fidelity air to it, but that is okay. I'm guessing it is a demo.
The melody is catchy --- one step over the line definitely sticks in your head. The performance definitely radiates rock n' roll at its most raw essence. Again, the song conjures up the spirit of the Ramones with the air of maybe T. Rex.
Great job!

Bryan Lamanno always wanted to be in a band, but enlisting other musicians proved tricky.
“I always felt like my wheels were turning and I wasn’t getting anywhere musically, Lamanno said.
Band mates, he said, must be compatible on multiple levels: musically, socially and talentwise.
Lamanno, a KC native who’s spent his recent past in Nashville and Baltimore, decided last year to take a backward approach to forming a band — he came up with a name, The Tambourine Club — and recorded a few demos. By himself.
Upon returning to Kansas City last year, Lamanno put an ad on Craigslist.
Drummer Jason Wade and bassist Ricky Jones responded, and The Tambourine Club became official.
Jones, who also plays keyboards, said he knew “within the first five minutes of playing that the trio was meant to be.
The Tambourine Club’s sound is part jangly ’60s pop, part ’90s Brit rock. Lamanno, the lead vocalist, sounds a bit like Todd Johnston, the lead singer of Australian indie band The Sleepy Jackson.
“When I first heard the Club via MySpace, Jones said, “I loved the sound but couldn’t quite put my finger on what it reminded me of. ...My initial reaction was that it sounded like The Rolling Stones meet The Flaming Lips.
Now that the trio has had a chance to collaborate on Lamanno’s songs, the Club’s sound is evolving.
“We’ve only played really about six or seven shows, Lamanno said. “I feel like every show’s getting better and better.
The band’s working on new interpretations of Lamanno’s demos. One of those demos, “Kansas City, is an ode to the local music scene.
“Kansas City’s a great place for music, and it kind of annoys me that mostly you hear about New York bands, L.A. bands, Lamanno said. “There’s great music here. - INK

You should know in 15 seconds if a song is gonna suck or not. This passed the 15 second non-suck test so far. Good use of a drum machine all though I'm not a fan of drum machines.
Vocals slightly remind me of the Flaming Lips but that is a stretch. Nice surf guitar almost. I'm glad it was almost surf guitar I don't want to listen to surf guitar. I life the sustaining efect on the lead guitar.
The lyic " I step over the line sounds to familiar as there is already a song that says that.
all togeather it's cool.

Great energetic start to this, with drums, then guitars, then vocals. It's a simple, but punchy and effective melody, and the vocals do it justice. Everything is put together very well, with a nice shimmering sound. This is the kind of sound you want to be listening to when you're driving around on a summer's day. I like the guitar solo - it's sort of demented (in a good way.).....
