Sylvia Jones is creating her own place in the world of gospel music. From urban, contemporary Christian music to praise and worship, Sylvia's music reaches everyone, regardless of age and race. In her music ministry, there is something everyone can relate to. In her lyrics, you can feel a sense of transparency and honesty that listeners can connect with.
In addition to Christians, Sylvia Jones’ music has mass appeal to non-Christian audiences. Her lyrical content appeals to everyday people. Yet, her love for God is undeniable. And her music reflects who Sylvia is as a person: down to earth, funny and practical. She chooses to be transparent about her relationship with both God and her life experiences because she is committed to living an authentic life.
She has traveled around the country and appeared alongside artists such as Martha Munizzi, John P. Kee and Stephen Hurd who says "Sylvia Jones' music is powerful and very marketable." Also, she has appeared on The Bobby Jones New Artist showcase. Last year she was the opening act for a college inspirational tour that traveled from Syracuse University to Clemson University and beyond. She has been told on numerous occasions that her charismatic, live performances have similarities to CeCe Winans and Kirk Franklin. World famous lead guitarist Jonathan Dubose calls her music "just fantastic."
In addition to Christian venues, Sylvia's music has crossed over into mainstream. She has performed in some of New York City's renowned spots such as Madison Square Garden and the Soul Café.
She also received vocal coaching from Patricia Carey, mother of pop superstar Mariah Carey.
All of these experiences have prepared her for this present time. She is a seasoned minister whose live performances are powerful and anointed. Recently, she released her solo debut album which is being well received by many audiences and retailers. More recently she won the award for Connecticut’s Best Female Solo Artist of the year.
