Bio
Sway Peñala is no stranger to the studio and stage. His first album, recorded with DnH and self-titled "Drop ‘n Harmony," was released in 2000. In 2001, Sway joined Kai and Innerlude alumni to form 6th Day. The group release "Forever Starts Today" in 2005, coinciding with his selection as a finalist on Fox TV’s American Idol. After his departure from the show, Sway continued to tour with 6th Day and A.I. show-mate Elliott Yamin.
In 2008 Sway returned home to continue writing & composing. That’s when Sway met the inspiration for "My Story" - the lady that revealed true love. Determined to preserve every moment, Sway kept a journal of their love affair and immortalized his “Juliet” in song. Then tragedy struck and Sway suddenly faced the fierce pain of heartbreak. But as time passed, he also learned to mend his heart and continue on.
My Story is more than an intimate look into the soul of singer-songwriter Sway Peñala. It’s a musical illustration of the bounding emotions you feel in the journey of love. It’s a story that everyone has lived. My Story lets you share his experiences and inspires you to relive your own memories.
My Story was written and produced by Sway Peñala, in collaboration with Derrick Allen (Tyrese, Chaka Khan & Wayman Tisdale), Glenn Gutierrez (Stevie B, Jaya & M:G), JP Nebres (Roger Troutman, Pinay & Kai) and the powerhouse production duo Roland Casiquin & Brian White - along with a up-and-coming songwriter Matt Jennings.
