"Review of the "Live at Trash Bar Festival""

"..the next band up completely blew me away. They being Super Potent Death Baby. Fronted by a quintissential "rock chick" who sings everything - plays bass guitar extremely well - and has a great look and style to go along with it all. The rest of this power trio has a ferocious drummer named Jimmy pummelling the skins - and a heavy metal looking dude who played some amazing guitar. In particular this guitarist seemed to blend the best elements of "punk" guitar with highly-sophisticated speed-metal riffage that would probably make Dave Mustaine of Megadeth happy. For her part, Suzy locked in perfect for maximum bass riffage, as drummer Jimmy marked out split second patterns on his kit. I totally dug everything about Super Potent Death Baby." - Dave Cromwell

"Super Potent Death Baby live @ rehab"

"Fronted by the riff-steady Suzy The Fox, SPDB ripped through a full-throttled set that brought sonic satisfaction to my ears. As they are most certainly a power trio (think Cream with a punky edge to them), the band is masterfully filled out with Pete the Meeeeet on shredding guitar and Jimmy the Weed on thunder-drums. Jimmy boomed around the cans and cymbals with hyper-galactic energy. Pete the Meeeeet is a prestigious music school alumni - but don't let that fool you - his playing is crazed and frantic. He morphs effortlessly between speed metal riffs to Ramones style crunchy chords to Eric Clapton-esque "Sunshine of your Love" style blues. For her part, Suzy sings with just enough rough edge on her voice to make you stand up and take notice. What impresses me even more though, is her bass playing. All of the songs are built around a very strong groove and the bass stands out as the driving force. The boys are sophisticated musicians with a dirty edge to them. This band kicks serious ass. - Dave Cromwell

"Baeble previews the 2007 CMJ Music Marathon"

The Skinny: Their drummer is named Jimmy the Weed and according to their Myspace, sound like ?The Runaways and Black Sabbath having an orgy,? which is pretty spot-on. We like these guys and would heartily endorse doing shots of Jack while listening to this band. - Jason Newman - www.baeblemusic.com

"Super Potent Death Baby live @ The Production Lounge"

"On Saturday the 24th of January, I rambled on down to The Production Lounge in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NYC to catch up with my fave heavy power trio - Super Potent Death Baby. I've been following this band since discovering them for myself in June of last year. I was aware there had been some personnel changes since I last saw them, so I was very curious to hear what they sounded like now. The band still features bassist/vocalist, Suzy The Fox out front as well as guitarist, Pete The Meeeeet on all things 6-string, but now the drums were being handled by new addition Paulie Wallbanger. SPDB is fronted quite capably by lean rocker Suzy, who manages to capture the essence of both Joan Jett and Nikki Sixx, all the while establishing a voice and style that is still unique and her own. I was quite pleased to hear that Paulie locked in perfectly with Pete and Suzy and displayed some serious chops and power. Pete was, of course, a force to be reckoned with on guitar. Suzy is an alluring combination of slithery femininity and tomboyish bravado. She writes and sings songs with lyrics like "I'm no Wonderwoman and you're no Superman, But I'm not wasting my time now, honey, You do the best that you can" (“Heart On”). Pete is an amazing guitarist. Combining fluid musicianship with an aggressive punch. He cites bands like Black Sabbath, 24-7 Spyz, Kyuss, Mars Volta, Dinosaur Jr., Yes, The Zombies and King Crimson (just to name a few) as those he admires. "They are a 3-piece with a very big sound. - Dave Cromwell
