Sun Mother, the powerhouse trio comprised of Colbi Childs (lead guitar and vocals), Stephen Adams (bass and vocals) and PJ Hilley (drums), is an eclectic mix of grunge vibes, hip hop grooves and rock n roll soul. Formed in 2017 under the brooding grey Pacific Northwest sky of Seattle, WA they remain true to their roots making music that cuts through the cloudy, damp weather and straight into your angsty soul. Turning emotions into strong licks that inspire us all to be our best selves, by encouraging people to embrace who they are and overcome the never-ending string of adversity that is life in America in the 21st century.
Following in the footsteps of those grunge gods that paved the way, Sun Mothers is loud, self-reflective and brimming with raw emotion while still following the classic hybrid theory. Even going so far as to tap into hip hop rhythms and cadences to bring you a unique sound all their own. This trio respects and honors the history of the Seattle music scene while making it clear that they are unapologetically on a mission to put Seattle grunge back on the map.
Covid changed our world, taught us a lot and gave way to the newest lineup of Sun Mother. A lineup that feels stronger and hungrier than ever. As the world grapples with what the new normal will look like, and what that means for live entertainment, one thing is certain. Sun Mother is poised to be a big part of the Seattle rock world, and they are hellbent on making sure those fans know their name.
