SUGA SHANE
Atlanta, GA | Established. Jan 01, 2009
Bio
Suga Shane a standout award-winning artist since the age of 12, considers his music as another form of his artwork. He uses his words to paint a vivid picture and leaves each song’s meaning up to the listener to interpret. He was given the nick-name "SUGA SHANE" in high school by his peers after displaying the ability to win boxing matches against men at the local nightclub Fight Nights. Fluid, rapid, unpredictable and capable of pulling off any delivery, Suga Shane has an unorthodox style that is steeped in the spirit of hip-hop. In 2009, the Louisiana-born and Florida-raised MC met and befriended an emerging rapper named Waka Flocka through a mutual producer they were both working with (MikeDaRockman). The two formed a friendship based on their passion for creating music and an unyielding spirit to win. While Suga Shane’s bars on his critically hailed single “BELLS” gained him the respect he deserved, it was his work ethic that proved his staying power. The ambitious lyricist approached world famed Atlanta DJ and radio personality Greg Street about his music and was rewarded by receiving radio support, an impressive feat for an unsigned artist. His streak of luck continued when he caught the attention of Debra “Ms. Deb” Antney who was amazed and instantly signed him to a management deal on sheer verbal skills.
Suga Shane’s resume is very notable as an independent artist. He’s appeared in XXL, WorldStarHipHop and MTV as well as collaborated with French Montana, Roscoe Dash, OJ Da Juiceman and Waka, whom he also toured with. Suga Shane remains a strong fixture on the festival circuit wowing crowds at SXSW, A3C and the Auburn Fest. He prides on live performances, which are experiences that radiate inescapable exuberance. From fire lit drums, champaign showers, guitar players, stage diving and crowd surfing, Suga Shane bridges the gap between rock & roll and hip-hop.
On his upcoming project, he recruited production heat from Grammy winning and nominated talent 808 Mafia "SouthSide" (Meek Mill, Jay-Z, Kanye West , Young Thug, Future, Waka Flocka, Wiz Khalifa), "Magnedo" (Eminem, 50 Cent) and "KE On The Track" (Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Future, Rihanna, Rick Ross), who heralds the forward-thinker a star based on his dexterity on any given track. Suga Shane is aware of the power of musical influence and hope his music stimulates, sparks conversation and inspires the next generation of dreamers.
