Beat 100 is very pleased to introduce Suburban Syndicate’s latest entry to the Beat100 music video charts Crowd Surfin’. The quality of music appearing on the social networking music website Beat 100 has quickly become superb and Suburban Syndicate epitomizes everything Beat 100 aims to showcase – new music, sheer talent, originality and excellence in unsigned bands.
Very few bands manage to successfully cross genre barriers and rock-rap, despite being one of the more popular attempted cross genres, is often one of the hardest to achieve. Rock and rap are in many ways very isolated and polarised genres with few bands managing to achieve a cross over that truly works. In fact I can personally think of only a handful – Rage Against the Machine, Limp Bizkit, The Beastie Boys, Kid Rock and for one very famous song by Public Enemy. No doubt there are others but their impact on music is often very slight and they quickly fade into obscurity.
Suburban Syndicate however are a band that manages to, not only cover the cross genre divide but actually create something new and unique from it. Their aggressive lyrics and power metal backing create something that is absolutely unique and incredibly energetic.
Their entry to the Beat 100’s charts Crowd Surfin’ is one of their most lively and well-formed songs and showcases all of the bands talents to their fullest while still creating an anthem that is cohesive and exciting. The three lyricists DeadleeMC, Lil Mor and Quicksta have incredible talents and there’s very much a Beastie boys feel to their lyrics but with a little bit more of a modern influence and some traditional vocal edges. The drummer “Mr.Black” plays with a great edge and brings us a distinctive undercurrent for the song. The guitarist Jacobius Wrex is simply fantastic and shreds the guitar incredibly well setting the pace for the song as well as providing exceptional solos.
What results is a song that is incredibly well formed and absolutely full of energy. The band has understandably already had great success both locally and nationally. They have reached first place in battle of the bands, blasted their way up to a top position on reverb nation and are now skyrocketing up the Beat 100 music charts. The band brings a fresh approach to rock/rap cross-overs and we’re expecting to see great things from them in the coming months and years.

The members comprising Suburban Syndicate are all childhood friends that have been writing together since Jr. High. All four are more than capable of shining as individual stars. Collectively they have become a solid impact on the Detroit Rap and Hip-hop scene. With their 6ft7ft Remix grabbing 36000 downloads they have proven themselves a force to be reckoned with. Often compared to groups like the Beastie Boys and Lmfao while putting their own style and twist on hip-hop. Suburban Syndicate has turned the Motor City on its head and shown that Detroit is still the home of great up and coming hip-hop artists.
Jeremy Stewart (DeadleeMC) - Killer timing and stage presence are both trademarks of DeadleeMC. Clever lyrics, outrageous personality and sense of humor - coupled high energy vocal delivery - make DeadleeMC a force behind the microphone.
Anthony Morales (Lil Mor) - Delivering hard-hitting, funny chorus hooks over heavy bass lines, he runs the gamut of what is hot in rap currently. Lil Mor moves effortlessly amongst a multitude of vocal delivery styles, augmented by a smooth-as-silk Latino voice. This bi-lingual dynamo is equally at ease spitting infectious hooks in English or Spanish.

Nick King (DJ Mahogany) Nick King is an accomplished Drummer and producer who is the latest member of Suburban Syndicate. Nick has the pedigree of a Grammy Award winning producer in his Father Steve King. Although DJ Mahogany shines by his own light and so far it has shown in production work on Suburban Syndicate songs such as Hell House, Natural Disaster and others.

Q. How did the project come into existence?
We have been collaborating on each others songs since we were very young. We formed as a unit in April of 2010 after getting noticed
on a collaborated track that we had posted online. At first each of us were signed to individual production deals. But something just felt right
about putting it all under one title and working together.
Q.Who are the members of the band if any and please tell us about it?
Kenny Quick aka Quicksta: Rapper who focuses on funny voices, comedic timing and light hearted lines to move the songs along
Jeremy Stewart aka DeadleeMC: Rock and Roll feel to his lyrics and sound has fire engine red hair and stands out as the power voice of the group.
Anthony Morales aka LilMor: Bi-lingual dynamo can deliver with speed and has a killer smooth sound that brings him through a song.
Nick King: DJ, Producer, Drummer with the pedigree of Grammy winner Steve King (Nick's Father) under his belt.
Q. How would you describe your sound/genre?
We are Hip-Hop above all else. We love strong rap songs but by far consider ourselves hip-hop with a old school flair. Think Beastie Boys, YoungMC.
We love the fun side of Hip-Hop and want to make music people enjoy listening too.
Q. What formal training or previous experience do any of the members have?
Nick King is an accomplished drummer and producer, DeadleeMC guitar and production
Q. Are you working w/ a producer on your upcoming album?
Yes we have worked with and currently work with, Apple Juice Kid who is a 8 time beat battle champion, Static Revenger who has a current hit in Lucianna's "I LIKE THAT" and also we are currently working with Steve King Grammy Award winning producer from the Shady Records(54 sound) camp.
Q. Who would you say has been the biggest influence on the bands sound or that you have used as inspiration for your music?
By far the sound of the Beastie Boys - we love their style! No one is doing what they did anymore. They used their songs to exchange verses with each other. They knew how to bring you into their songs and make you feel like you were listening into something really cool! We want to involve people in our music get them invested and make them feel apart of it. We love the Detroit boys as well - Eminem, Kid Rock, Royce Da 5'9. People who write what they feel and by doing so attract an audience.
Q.What advice would you give to others starting out?
Don't get discouraged if you get ten nos and one yes. Work your butt off. Work, work, work. At times your going to feel like you just want to do something else... Don't.

Q. What has been your greatest experience so far either individually or as a whole?
We have met some incredible people in the business... but I would have to say going into the studio for two days with Apple Juice Kid. The guy is a genius. He is an incredible talent and we all feel collectively that when we left his studio we walked away as much better artists.
Q. Do you have any upcoming events or news you would like to tell our readers about?

Suburban Syndicate originated in Detroit, at the vanguard of a wave of young, hard-working artists emerging from a region noted for its diverse and fertile musical environment. The individual member's eclectic musical backgrounds bond together cohesively as a unit, resulting in Suburban Syndicate's distinct sound one that embraces a variety of musical genres and blends them into their own unique sonic offering. There are often parallels drawn by fans and peers alike, between Suburban Syndicate and notable groups who have come before, such as the Beastie Boys.
Suburban Syndicate exploded onto the musical radar and began to immediately attract attention both locally and nationally, rocketing to the top positions on sites such as ReverbNation and proving beyond a doubt they were a force to be reckoned with. The results of their efforts were recognized by Grammy Award winning producer Steve King (The Eminem Show), who has since become the band's Head Engineer. Suburban Syndicate's remix of Lil Wayne's "6ft 7ft" garnered 36,000 downloads in a mere three days time. They have consistently broken records daily for votes received as participants in Ernie Ball's Battle of the Bands, while vying for a slot on the 2012 Van's Warped Tour. Their intense, energetic live performances have earned them a large and devoted fan base that continues to swell with each subsequent song and video release.
Now based in Nashville, the group is poised to advance to the next phase of their career with the ultimate goal of world domination.

Mr. Black (Nick King) - Accomplished drummer, producer and international man of mystery. The enigmatic Renaissance Man that is Mr. Black unquestionably shines by his own light - which is crystal clear in his stellar drumming and production work on Suburban Syndicate's tracks. This master of all things technical wears a specially designed suit of his own design, that nullifies light rays - maintaining his anonymity and keeping his identity obscured in a veil of shadow.
Jake The Jackal Orr - Classically trained and hailing from a family with an extensive musical background, Jake Orr was the textbook child prodigy, who began honing his skills as a guitar purest at an extremely young age. Establishing himself as one of the most well respected and sought-after guitarists in the Detroit metal scene, he also enjoys a well deserved reputation as a player's player.
The Butcher - Infamous meta-physician and veteran of Detroit's Gothic/Industrial underground. Notable for his series of Lidernachte experiments using sound based on Fibonacci sequences and algorithmic formulae targeting the brain's pleasure centers. Use of these techniques was deemed sadistic and unethical as they resulted in expansion of sensation to a point of sensory overload. The Butcher wears a mask over the lower half of his face to conceal damage resulting from a disfiguring accident occurring inside the ballroom of the Leland building in 1996.
