"Concert review - Sopron, Hungary"

As the bronze finisher of 2007 Emergenza Hungarian finals, Suburban Neon stepped on stage, starting off with one of their best tracks, the concert-hall got half-filled with about 80 people. When they finished, there were at least twice as many people. You saw those guys climbing Emergenza festival last year. They gathered experience, support and gradually made their way into the professional world. If you saw both days, you’d say they were the best by far amongst all the bands playing in Sopron. - sopronirocks.hu

"Interview at DunaTV"

Narration:

Millenáris Park awaits all curious spectators with a swirl of events on the night of June 21st. Amongst many, the „2008 Fringe“ awarded band, Suburban Neon is putting on a hot show that night.

Daniel Nagy, lead singer of Suburban Neon:

We played the Millenáris Fogadó (Hall) two years ago on the same date, that’s the Celebration of Music. It was just a little right after we were formed, a good opportunity to have a go, show ourselves. This year, however, we’ve been invited to play the Festival. You can’t really label our music, so for sales reasons, we had to tag it ourselves eventually. We baptised our style „Dream Rock“. It’s just guitar music mainly from the world of dreams… - This is a transcription of an interview at DunaTV. You can check it on http://english.suburbanneon.h

"Thoughts of Tibor Bakács on our song, Az élet szép (Life’s beautiful)"

Especially if you’ve got enough alcohol to forget this oh-so-beautiful life, and the band stands up by this evergreen message with genuine devotion. In spite of all his mannerism, the singer scores in affirmation of every denial of life, therefore, the declamation is not out of place in the song, even though, Tamás Cseh is electronically brought to life to be forgotten again, in the end of the day, mimesis is the cradle of art and the question is merely the duration of the memento. The piece, the band behind it, above it, under it, the complex sound and rhythm with the changes in styles - turned out perfect. So, you feel that they can play just about anything, they have it, and if all this is fixed and steady… and it is! I’ll be honest, I haven’t just met them today, I myself have played this song of theirs on Pont FM, with high hopes of turning it into a hit. It hasn’t made it yet, perhaps it never will, but it certainly deserves to be mentioned. If I had to be strict, I would say it is a song. What is a song? I don’t know, at least not with every certainty, but the stuff I would describe on my own would probably be something like this. I know a lot of their tracks are in English – they don’t believe in the great Hungarian Resurrection either – but maybe translating some of them back to Hungarian… especially when all of them were written by the same Hungarian – maybe it’s possible. Well, I’m looking foreward to them - kulturpart.hu
