"Laguna Hills resident takes shot at stardom"

Even as a child, Stevi Madison was recognized for her vocal talents.

At the age of five, her "perfect pitch" got her hand-picked as the lead for her school Christmas Pageant. By 12, she had taken enough piano lessons to write and perform a song at her graduation from St. Mary and All Angel's School.

Now, the Laguna Hills resident is one of ten semi-finalists in Cosmopolitan Magazine's "Star Launch" contest, in which readers can vote for their favorite female musician out of a cast of ten of America's hottest rising young stars.

Should she be in the final three contestants, Stevi will win a trip to New York City to compete against her fellow finalists for recording sessions with a yet to be named Grammy-award winning producer, as well as $10,000.

Stevi's rendition of a song entitled "Beautiful" can be viewed at cosmopolitan.com/starlaunch. Voting ends at midnight the morning of Nov. 3.

The 22 year old musician – who heard about the contest by simply flipping through the pages of the magazine – said she was looking forward to seeing the contest's results. So far, she is in third place.

"I love [Beautiful]because it's a song that applies to anything," she said. "There are so many things that are beautiful."

"Local Girl reaches for the Stars in Cosmopolitan Magazine's StarLaunch Search"

Writing her first song for Aliso Viejo's Saint Mary and All Angel's 8th grade graduation at the tender age of 12, Orange County native Stevi Madison has always known that performing music and entertaining crowds was part of her destiny, and today through Cosmopolitan Magazine's StarLaunch Search, the rest of the world is going to know it too.

Stevi has been performing and working on her music career since the age of four, but 2008 seems to be the year when everyone else has really started taking notice. At the beginning of this year Stevi's song "Beautiful" was featured on the second "Music for Troops CD" compilation, going out to support our armed forces around the world. "Regardless of how you feel about war, these brave men and women are putting their lives on the line to defend our country and we need to support them", says Madison about her contribution, and being a contribution is the focal point of Stevi's music career.

After signing to talent manager and entertainment publicist, Morgan McKean of Morgan Blaire & Co., Stevi' s song "Ready for My Life" was chosen as the theme song for the charity organization "Fight Pink Chocolate", which supports Cancer patients and their families. She also donated her time and talent to the "Inaugural Jam 2008" benefit concert, which raised funds to send Lucerne Valley Middle School students on a living history field trip to Washington D.C. in January 2009.

Through Morgan's direction, Stevi is becoming an first-rate entertainer and recently signed on to perform in the "Give It 2 Me LIVE" tour, which features "The Rocturnals" (known best for their hit "If I…." from the Academy Award winning movie "Crash") and sixth season American Idol™ finalist, Paul Kim. While knee deep practice sessions, tour rehearsals and production meetings, Stevi received the best news of the year. Cosmopolitan Magazine announced that Stevi Madison was a top ten semifinalist in their StarLaunch search for the next "Fun, Fearless, Female" musician.

In order to make into the final three, where she will get to open for Natasha Bedingfield & Solange Knowles, as well as hang out with MTV's Damien Fahey at the concert in New York City on December 5th, she is asking you, Santa and everyone else she knows to go to www.cosmopolitan.com/starlaunch and vote again and again.

If Stevi makes it to Terminal 5, she becomes the winner of the Cosmo's StarLaunch Search and will get to work with a 'hit-making' producer, receive thousands of dollars (for all her hard work) and become part of the Cosmo family.

Let's make this local girl's dream of becoming a STAR come true, so we can say we knew her when. She's made it this far already, so get out there and vote, vote and vote again.

"Hats Off to ACIDIC, Benevolent Tomorrow, Stevi Madison & More at The Derby"

.....A singer from Orange County named Stevi Madison then took the stage, a charismatic young lady with the polish and presence of seasoned professionals many years her elder. Lithe and limber in leather pants, stiletto heels, studded belt, and an off-the-shoulder top, Stevi began with a retro-vibe bit called “So Close,” and then, after a subdued intro filled with yearning, she lit up with shining, hopeful smiles through the sad lyrics of “Black Jacket.” “Every Time” featured a good three-chord drive, followed by the acoustic picking and light cymbals of the title track to her CD, “Ready for My Life.” “Just Another” was a tight power-pop nugget, and Stevi ended with “Beautiful,” a sweetly chiseled ditty highlighted by ringing, triumphant guitar work. Stevi's voice was emotive, lilting, and inviting throughout her setlist, but thankfully minus the sometimes off-putting warble of another well-known singer with almost the same first name (Stevie Nicks, of course). Her band, consisting of guitarists Chris Vazquez and Steve Crane, bassist Steve Phillips, and drummer Justin Krajenbrink, was clad mainly in jeans and T-shirts -- low-key in appearance, but high-energy in performance. Stevi Madison, who has already attracted much favorable attention from So-Cal to Nashville, is sure to continue charming new fans, as she did at The Derby.
