"What A TX Gem!"

What a delight!! Very diverse tracks, really shows the depth of Mr. Fedrick's talent. "Hold on to Love" is a true Anthem, while "Chammoran Waltz" carries you away. No dry eyes with "Forever Heart" either. Can't wait to see what's next from this new Texas jewel!! - CD Baby Review

"Classic Pop"

Fedrick excels at making orchestral pop numbers that are fresh and not overlayered, delivering showtune sensibility mixed in with some classic pop--well produced and very heartfelt and snazzy! - Limelight

One Man Band:
Singer-songwriter Steven Fedrick (vocals, Yamaha Tyros Keyboard),

Fedrick's niche is more melodic, less noisy than prevailing indie rock. Fedrick reflects the underground's softer, sweeter side, with a greater emphasis on harmonies, arrangements, and songcraft. You'll hear the lush orchestration of chamber pop, the primitive simplicity of piano pop, along with jubilant jazzy big band pop. Fedrick's focus is on the song rather than on the sound. While it's not "new", it is retro both original & authentic

Biography

Steven Fedrick was born in Texas. In his first sixteen years, he was moved ten times in four states. He finished high school in Versailles KY and graduated with Bus. Adm. Degree from Transylvania University, Lexington, KY. In 1985 he moved back to Texas and has been in the Dallas/Fort Worth area ever since. Currently, he assists disaster victims for his day job.

teven Fedrick has been composing pop music for awhile but who knew? Nobody knew, he'd kept his songs out of the public arena. A heart attack at 46 compelled him to loose his music into the world. His debut CD Fedrick not Fred is the result.

Feature Interview

In the summer of 2009, Steven took some time out to talk about some of his favorite music, albums, and interests.

What was the albums that most influenced you as a songwriter?

Cliché alert: The Beatle's Sergeant Pepper’s. I love the ambition, diversity & the combined brilliance of style, substance and technology. John Lennon was an irresistible anti-hero.

· Graceland by Paul Simon – an eclectic mixture of musical styles. It is an amazingly artful blending of pop, a cappella, isicathamiya, and mbaganga. Simon’s imagery and song craft is amazing. It took popular music to a different level.

· Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen - Rock epic-ally personal. When I was sixteen, I attended his E-Street concert @ Cincinnati’s River Front Coliseum. It was an intense and meaningful experience.

· Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder – Jazz, balladry, funk, Afro beat, even a string-quartet minuet
