Stephcynie (pronounced stef-sih-nee) is a big ball of love!
The Houston-raised artist spreads joy and happiness wherever she travels in her video for “Free To Love,” a feel-good visual to brighten your day. About the video's concept, Stephcynie explains,
“I wanted to show love in its purist form….I am a romantic that believes in love, friendship and passion. I believe that the same tender, patient and kind love we show to our significant others should be extended outside of our social comfort zone. I lived in New York City for a total of 10 years and while there, one of the things that constantly stood out to me was how the homeless were invisible to those of us who had a home. Somewhere in life, things took a turn for the worst, they lost hope, they were neglected or they just made a poor decision, and had become forgotten, looked past and not seen as human. It could happen to any of us. So, I wanted to find a way to combine my belief in true love, which is colorblind, and my passion for sharing the love within us with people who are normally ignored.”
Stephcynie is a graduate of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) also attended by Grammy Award winners Beyoncé, Robert Glasper and Brian Michael Cox. She is a 2007 graduate of the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, creating a buzz performing in small theaters and bars around Manhattan shortly after graduating. She now resides in Nashville, TN.

What's Good in Music? Stephcynie!
The New York based singer has released a video for her debut single " Oh Mighty One," an inspirational tune that fiinds her voice soaring in worship over the piano driven track.
Directed by Nicole Januarie, the video captures "just another day" in the Big Apple: A grocery shopping trip to Trader Joes, random flashmob of dancers, walking down the street of the Upper West Side---normal day to day.
Spiritually inspired by the higher power, and musically inspired by the likes of "Diane Warren, Israel Houghton, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Brandy," Stephycnie's message on "Oh Mighty One" proves she is indeed dedicated to her personal mission to "reflect the stages of life--good or bad, high or low."
"Doing what you believe you should be doing, is the most personal form of worship" she states at the end of the video.
And so it is. - CentricTV.com

Are You Working On Any New Projects? Yes, I’ve began work on a full length album that will be available in the spring of 2015!
Who Are Your Musical Influences? Stevie Wonder, Diane Warren, Israel Houghton, Norah Jones, Lady Antebellum, Jason Mraz, Hanz Zimmer
Independent Or Major – What Are Your Goals? I plan on remaining independent for as long as possible. I am definitely open to signing with a label, but it has to be the right one. It’s like a marriage you know? This is a great time to be an artist, we have more control than ever over our sound, our look and who we want to cater to. I think when you sign with the wrong label, they can restrict that freedom.

Stephcynie's late grandfather is the muse for her latest video for "Mr. Edwards," the title track off her upcoming album.
"He was my constant. He always believed that one day I would end up doing music full time for a living," she tells Billboard of her grandfather, who passed away two years ago and spent his 60s as a cab driver after serving the country. "He was also a true example for me of what a man should be when it comes to a family."
Embracing her vocals at 2 years old, the Houston-bred songstress (whose name is pronounced Stef-sin-ee) and her cousin would put on shows at family gatherings with costumes pulled from her grandmother's closet, forcing all of her relatives to watch. Citing influences John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, Sarah Vaughn and Israel Houghton, the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music alum brings a warmth and brightness to every note she touches.
Artists to Watch in 2016
For her upcoming album Mr. Edwards, she says to expect narratives from the heart. "The Mr. Edwards album is a story about memories," Stephcynie said. "A portrait of a simple man's consistency in simple things, and the eternal effect he has on the lives he encountered."
She also hopes the project will move anyone who has experienced loss. "For anyone who has lost a loved one, it is my hopes that Mr. Edwards will touch the heart and overshadow sadness with joy," she offers. "If I can inspire one person with my songs, then Mr. Edwards would say, 'You did good.' Be prepared to cry and laugh and be inspired." - Billboard.com
