STEPHANIE HARPE BAND – BIOGRAPHY
May 2009 The Stephanie Harpe Band has the #1 Single on NCI FM's National Aboriginal top 30 countdown as of December 12, 2009 for two weeks. They have opened for bands like Trooper, Blue Rodeo, and Prairie Oyster. The band was invited to perform at the Canada Day celebration 2009 in front of a crowd of 14,000 Edmontonians and was invited back for 2010. Their self titled album is played nationally on not only NCI FM (broadcasting in Mississippi), but on CBC radio and CFWE FM. The album features Nammy award nominated WT Goodspirit and Juno award winner, Bill Bourne. They made national news when they went from #98 to #1 in just three weeks after entering the indiebattle on the Indie Charts - featuring the best independent musicians in the world. Stephanie Harpe Band singles have been selected for two CD compilations, "Colors of My Life and Las Vegas' own Radio RNR's Independent Music Volume 3 due out in Feb. of 2010.
At 18 years old, Stephanie jammed with Jeff Healey and maintained a musical friendship with each other during the last year of his life. With his kind words of encouragement and important words of wisdom on her emerging career, she decided to take her musical talents to the next level.
