Bio
Created to play a fluke gig in August of 2004, the Batallions have since become one of Northern New Jersey's hot new emerging bands. Originally made up of High School buddies Rob Janos, Brian Cho, Jesse Gold, and Andrew Marra, and has since expanded to include Pitt Clemens on Bass and Lapsteel Guitar.
Playing a mixture of songs with roots in simple down-and-dirty rock and roll from the likes of Bruce Springsteen and the Who; the screaming blues of Led Zeppelin and Cream; with a modern edge akin to The White Stripes and Nirvana, The Batallions are almost impossible to be classified into a single musical category, with over half a dozen styles of music covered.
On April 2nd, 2007 the band released a 4-song demo EP of original material, Joker's Paradise, produced and recorded by Chris Sulit of To the Moon at Moonskull Studios in Paramus. And in September 07, the band released their first single: "Why are the Cute Ones Always Lesbians?". Both are available for digital download right on our Myspace homepage via Snocap.com.
In August of 2007, Batallion embarked on a mini-tour with a three-piece band from the U.K., The Murderhouse who joined the band for their first American shows, and was very well-received by fans and promoters alike.
As of winter 2008, the band is taking a short break to complete recording their full-length debut LP due for release in the Spring.
