Bio

Spyamp are a rock band from Dundee, Scotland. Their first demo 'On Friday It Snowed' won them a place in the T-Break heats and received national radio airplay. Following the heats Spyamp were selected as one of the 10 bands to play the T-Break tent at T in the Park in 2001.

In 2002 Spyamp recorded a second demo with Fraser Simpson (Laeto) which received local and national airplay. The band was offered a support slot on Biffyclyro's Scottish tour and the Dundee show was recorded live for BBC Radio 1 Session in Scotland. Three tracks were broadcast a few weeks later.

Following this early success Spyamp went on to play support slots with some great bands: Oxes, French Toast, Desalvo, Tribute to Nothing... and play Glasgow's 'Musicworks' and Manchester's 'In the City'.

During this time Spyamp recorded debut album 'GTi' with Robin Sutherland and released it on Scottish indie label Pet Piranha Records at the end of 2005. The band had a turbulent time during the next couple of years due to then drummer Sean Bethune suffering from RSI. The on/off nature of this injury made regular practice and gigging difficult however the band did manage to record another session for Vic Galloway on BBC Radio 1 SiS. Sean parted with the band at the end of 2007

New year 2008 saw Mark Giannico join Spyamp on drums. New album 'Settlement' (also recorded with R. Sutherland) is finished and will be released in May 2009 on the bands own indie record label Great Battle Records.
