There are bands whose surety of sound and clarity of purpose defines them from the start. And, of course, there are bands that just kind of…happen. It’s rare when you hear a band that can claim both. With Spruce Leaves, chaos controlled by melody is the defining element, but it’s the seeming disparity between the two and how cleverly they are arranged that makes them something else entirely. - Jared Bowers On May 9, 2011 · In The Record Rebellion

Formed in the fall of 2009, the band has been working tirelessly on a collection of songs that range from softly intricate, piano-centric pieces, to driving, percussion and bass driven multi-tempo songs, all with clean guitar lines that are unafraid to stray from the typical Indie Rock path and get a little noisy. Each track, and the philosophy behind their music as a whole, is focused on creating music with an accessible pop sensibility while allowing listeners to become involved and invested in their unique, complex compositions. With a diverse set that ranges between 30 and 40 minutes, experiencing them live is as entertaining as it is intriguing, as they appeal to a wide variety of knowledgeable music listeners. Their energy and enthusiasm, an innate sense of movement and intensity, and their genuine passion for the music they are creating makes them a must-see act whether they are opening or headlining.
