Bio
Spotting Waldo is a funk & dance based rock trio that has always been intent on pursuing different genres of music while maintaining a style that is jam-based, identifiable and unique. The band makes up what may very well be the world's first "3.5 piece lineup" consisting of guitarist Jack Schurk, bassist Kyle Anderson and featuring Shaun Spiker playing Drums and Keyboards simultaneously. Assembling in 2005, Anderson and Schurk set out to break the mold of the typical Jam band. They collaborated and played with many various musicians, including conga player Jon Byrd, before meeting percussionist Shaun Spiker. Spiker attended SIUE's School of Music and is the drumer and keyboard player for the band. His personality and musical approach prove to be a perfect fit for the group. At the heart of Spotting Waldo's musical style is Schurk's songwriting and his ability to blend lyrical honesty with familiar rock & roll sensibilities. Spotting Waldo shows feature explosive guitar over funk-driven bass and drums, making the band a favorite for many local Jam fans. In 2009, the band won the Waka Winter Classic and was invited to play at the Wakarusa Music Fesival at Mulberry Mountain, AK. Currently, Spotting Waldo is writing music and playing shows in the St. Louis area. Curently, They are hard at work recording their debut studio album.
