Bio
Chie grew up in Japan, and learned the art of storytelling from the Sparrow, a master of the art of Rakugo. She had training in jazz & classical voice & composition. Steve has been writing songs since he was 12 years old, and now practices law for his "day-gig." Combined, Soul of Sparrow creates powerful, insightful lyrics and music that universalizes the emotions we discover in our everyday life. The artists who influenced the duo are Paul Simon, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Fleetwood Mac, Miiles Davis and many ancient & comtemporary poets.
