Ben Munny™ began his music career as a rapper, pushing his limits for years with only success in mind. Throughout the earlier stages of his development process , Ben Munny™ wrote/recorded a plethora of unreleased mixtape music, in an attempt to create a steady local buzz. Using nothing more than a [cheap] brand mic , and Pro Tools , Ben Munny™ was developing not only his writing and delivery talent but also his skills as an engineer. Editing , mixing and arranging his own vocals changed his recording style , has helped him as an Artist.
As a New port News born , Virginian , but West coast/South/East coast influenced artist , it seemed difficult to define Ben Munny™’s musical style. The ability to adapt to the different sounds each region had to offer, made it easy to build a catalog. While the beat may have been used numerously , there was always a “certain” tone and diction he brought to it that set Ben Munny™ apart from the rest. In 2010 , Ben Munny™ was requested by an associate to feature on a track , that would change his life , and encourage him to explore hidden talent(s) of his.
The song itself did not do much , but the feature brought Ben Munny plenty of new attention. He began creating hooks/choruses for other artists and producers. With the promotion he was getting from the flow of new music , Ben Munny™ began to see bigger possibilities. In 2012 , Ben Munny™ set out to take his music career in a different direction, by re-branding Skoolofu™.
Skoolofu™ was designed to bring a new sound to music with originality, creativity and consistency as the foundation for not only music but also the person itself. Ranging from the pop; r&b and rap genres, Skoolofu™ has begun making a name for itself as keystone in the industry for not only Artists to have their musical needs met, but also for aspiring and/or established producers seeking local sales or placements with major labels.
It will be determination, drive and an undying desire to succeed, that will set Ben Munny™ apart from today’s artists , and make Skoolofu™ a monument in the music industry. SKOOLOFU™ (also spelled skool.of.u™) is not just a movement , or a way of Life , it's the Pulse.!.
