You don’t need us to tell you that Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world.
But if you didn’t know, it’s also a huge music hub. The Electronic Dance Movement (EDM)? You can thank Las Vegas night clubs for that.
Consequently, Vegas is also the home of a few very rare gems in the underground music world. One of which is Sam King, better known as SK4MC (Sam King for Master of Ceremonies).
King is a Vegas native who believes in the magic of hip-hop.
“I’m friendly to EDM. I listen to EDM, but I stay true to my roots,” he said.
On his newest project, FALL (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), King is looking to incorporate certain aspects of the EDM sound to create his own flavor of present day hip-hop. Merging the new with the old, he is focused on bringing attention back to the world of hip-hop through creativity and innovation.
With four albums behind him and a slew of singles, the future looks promising for the up-and-coming artist. His future plans include rerouting to Los Angeles where he can focus his efforts on the production of FALL while still maintaining his residency in what he hails as “the best city in the galaxy,” his hometown of Las Vegas.
More than just a hip-hop artist, King holds a bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University where he played football for the division one university. A bellman at The Cosmopolitan by day, King is flooding the underground circuit with his intelligent rhymes and soulful beats.
His most recent performance was at DunkXChange, a sneaker and hip-hop convention where his local following flooded the floor of the Sports Center of Las Vegas. Past shows include Beauty Bar, Gypsy Den, The Lobby Lounge inside of The Palms Hotel & Casino, The Artisan Boutique Hotel and with CollectiveZOO, at The Up-Do event this past spring.
His next performance will be at A3C Hip-Hop Festival at the Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia. As he continues his trek to the top, King asks a simple favor: SK4MC. - Collective Zoo
Uniqueness.
Those are the qualities that music junkies like myself look for in an artist. Unforced originality is a skill not found in every artist. Although many try so hard to be different, few are naturally different.
SK4MC is another case of bizarreness with great upside. In his words:
“He’s better than your favorite rapper’s, favorite rapper.”
That might be a stretch, but he definitely believes it.
Swag on a trillion, with the talent to back it up, SK4MC is what the hip hop game needs.
He’s just what the doctor ordered
The Sin City emcee took the popular “I Don’t Like” instrumental and murdered it, leaving a blood trail as a reminder for any rapper that’s contemplating stepping anywhere near his domain.
I would suggest you think twice before approaching, because it would be “Murder, She Wrote.” He’s an extremely nice man outside the booth, but a hardcore assassin on the instrumentals. Expect tremendous growth out of SK4MC in the future. There’s no telling where his talents will lead him, but it’s an honor to witness the process. - Online Magazine Skewln.com
Sam King is a Las Vegas rapper known as SK4MC. In early December, he spent several weeks in North Carolina, looking to network with the kind of folks who could help jump-start his rap career. Tonight, with the temperatures outside below freezing and snow melting as it hits the sidewalk, he ducks into Chapel Hill's Jack Sprat Cafe, a sandwich shop and bar, and home to a weekly hip-hop open-mic showcase known as Sunday Night Sessions. The night's resident DJ, A-Minor, nestles onstage between his turntables and a large triptych of windows that look out onto East Franklin Street. A small crowd of hip-hop devotees laugh as the night's co-host, Karim Jarrett—the self-described "professional shit-talker" known as Bishop—teases King, tonight's new guy, about the generous amount of letters in his stage name. SK4MC stands for Sam King 4 Master of Ceremony. The former New Mexico State football player knows how to take a friendly joke as he takes the microphone.... - Eric Tullis, The Independent Weekly (Dec 22, 2010)
SK4MC is a conglomeration of NC and Las Vegas native Sam King. From what i’ve heard from these new cuts they just sent me, the crew has an excellent diction and keeps the very essence of what a hip hop crew should sound like. Give these cuts a minute and marinate on them. I did and was thoroughly impressed. Tell me what you think? - HipHopRuckus.com
“The Path I Bend Album Review: With mixes between futuristic highs to them laid back lows and beyond, this mixtape holds a dynamic that is becoming more uncommon today. It's almost impossible to ignore the words being spit with emphasis in his style... Standout Track: "Just Imagine" "Getaway" "Stepping Up" 4.5/5.0 Stars!” - Jizockk - Coast2Coast Mixtapes Magazine Issue 11

Sam King 4 Master of Ceremonies. SK is a product of Sin City, Las Vegas, Nevadaa stones throw from Los Angeles, and the underworld of American entertainment. A counterculture savvy renaissance man, Mr. King has cultivated a contemporary sound that also pays homage to a bygone era of hip-hop, where lyricism and technique were celebrated. SKs movement is not limited to emceeing; brand-conscious, SK architects original story concepts for the visuals that accompany his music, which have had considerable success online. Having successfully completed a Division-1 football career and a college degree, SK looks forward to a blossoming future in entertainment. He now makes one plea:
