Bio

S I T I M O N R O E
(Pronounced: SEE-TEE)

Her voice has been described as warm, raw, sultry and sweet. Her song delivery is penetrating and her performance is captivating.

Siti Monroe began performing at the age of 5 as a guest artist at church functions, community events and festivals. By the time she was 10, she was spending summers performing across the Mid-West, including a performance of the National Anthem at The Houston Astrodome (Astros v. Padres). It was during these early years that she learned to appreciate the art of music and began cultivating her gift.

At 14, Siti was signed to her first recording contract with Gotee Records. Her time with Gotee afforded Siti the opportunity to develop as a recording artist – placing her in the studio on a regular basis performing backing vocals on various recordings and narrating television program(s).

When she turned 18, Siti left her record company and moved intermittently between New York City and Albuquerque NM. In New York, Siti continued to develop as a performer and as a recording artist. She also began developing as a songwriter, growing her catalogue of original material.

Now, at 22, Siti Monroe is embarking on a new phase of her life. She has relocated to Los Angeles and is working on her upcoming self-titled recording, produced by Mateo Laboriel. She has composed songs that demonstrate her eclectic sound, which reflect her diverse musical influences – artists such as Donny Hathaway, Chaka Khan, Bob Marley and Billie Holiday.

A consummate professional, Siti has cultivated her art while working with renown producers, such as Grammy Nominated Bobby Ross Avila (Usher, Janet Jackson), Grammy Award Winner Jaymes Felix (Andrae Crouch, Tower of Power), Grammy Award Winner Michael “Mooki” Taylor (Stacie Orrico, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Toby Mac [of DC Talk]) and presently, Mateo Laboriel (Jamie Foxx, Helen Baylor; Films: Take The Lead, ATL, Akeelah And The Bee).

Siti continues to remain passionate about her craft. Siti’s energy, conviction and originality excite audiences at every live show.
