Bio
Simisola Olabisi Dahunsi, a.k.a. "SIMISOLA," is a Nigerian Dutch- American performing
artist that fuses soul, jazz, R&B and pop elements into her music. An alumna of Berklee
College of Music, she cites her uncle, World Music instrumentalist and producer, Yomi
Omidiran (King Sunny Ade,Majek Fashek, Onyenka Onwenu among others) as an early
inspiration and for helping to identify her musical ability. SIMISOLA's use of indigenous
sounds paired with her desire to experiment contribute greatly to her creative process. She
likes to produce "whatever her soul feels" and refers to her brand new release Kings &
Queens: Love Quest, as "soul sounds that awaken sight." The EP, released June 2015, is an
exciting mix of driving rhythms and inviting melodies that tastefully showcase her vocal
prowess. She is currently performing within the U.S. and abroad in support of her album.
