Leah Ray Mendez has an incredibly beautiful voice that nestles itself into the bosom of her companion acoustic guitar. Leah’s new EP release, All Must Grow, is a creative folk music masterpiece that should be respected as such. The Santa Cruz, California singer- songwriter has combined her gift for singing and playing the guitar, with the talents of her husband, Mauricio Mendez (mandolin) and their friend, Andrew Marine (upright bass).
A focused and skilled writer, Leah Ray Mendez has taken her passion for loving others and touching their souls through music, and poured her heart into the four songs that comprise her “All Must Grow” EP. Songs like “Now” and the title track, “All Must Grow”, are perfect examples of why Leah deserves to be celebrated as a top indie folk artist.
Each song invites you to take an intimate journey through the matters of Leah’s heart, and you’ll be pleasantly entertained by her amazing singing voice along the way.
Despite its bluesy elements, make no assumptions about Leah Ray Mendez’s EP, it is far from the melancholy sound some may believe Folk music to be. Instead, it is vibrant and full of romantic vibes that make for a wonderful addition to your list of downloaded albums. - I Am Entertainment Magazine

Bio
With bluesy roots, reggae rhythms, indie sensibilities, and a touch of Radiohead, Silver Mendez is a modern folk experience all it's own. When lead singer/songwriter Leah Ray Mendez and bassist Mauricio lost everything in a Santa Barbara wildfire, the only possessions they truly mourned were their instruments. Nearly four years later, their music is filled with droning harmonium, celtic harp, plucked guitar, earthy bass, syncopated drums, and Leah's ever-present soaring vocals, straight out the heart chakra. Joined by electronic specialist & percussionist Beau Silver, Silver Mendez sounds like a antique tapestry woven with the dusty and bright colors of the California coast. The product is an earthy mix between Gillian Welch and Robert Plant. It is equally bitter and sweet with rich natural imagery, uplifting nostalgia, and deep beauty, "a creative folk masterpiece." -IAE Magazine, 2012
