Hailing from industrial Deeside in North Wales, SILVER/BACK/CLUB formed towards the end of 2011. The four fellows (David Thomas – Guitar & Lead Vocals, Adam Hughes - Bass, Tom Williams – Drums and Gareth Jones - Synths & Vocals) have written for and gigged with various local bands for a number of years, gaining experience and honing their craft.
Moving into 2012, it became apparent that this incarnation had something special. April saw the release of a debut self-titled EP, with all three tracks receiving airplay on BBC Radio Wales. In a short space of time, the band is building up a healthy reputation with critics, promoters and gig-goers alike.
Drawing upon many influences, S/B/C have been compared to indie heavyweights such as Editors, The Horrors, Bombay Bicycle Club and fellow Welshies Los Campesinos! Combining shimmering delays, haunting vocals, stabbing staccato guitar and distorted grooves, S/B/C strive for one thing, and that is to write good pop songs: distinguished tunes, teaming with hooks and melody.
After only their second gig, S/B/C were scouted by Victoria Warehouse (the new home of the Manchester Warehouse Project) to have their track “Pale Face” chosen as the opener for a forthcoming compilation CD, aiming to promote upcoming unsigned artists - an accolade which the band are very excited about.
A physical release of their EP is now imminent, alongside a full UK tour.
