Bio
Acoustic funky pop songstress, Sierra Cassidy, lures listeners with sultry vocals, evocative lyrics, and groovy guitar hooks. With a wide range of influences such as Jamiroquai, Michael Jackson, and Ed Sheeran, Sierra redefines the modern day singer-songwriter as an independent female artist touching on everything from political climate to the art of heartbreaking. Her vibey performances often have large venues dancing along and have more intimate rooms infatuated with her folky tunes. Sierra takes you on a trip as she tells her side of the story while introducing hip-hop rhythms and soulful singing into acoustic music.
Sierra attended Interlochen Arts Academy performing arts school as a songwriting major (age 17) where she honed in her crafts of singing, songwriting, and performance. During her time at Interlochen, Sierra went on a week long national tour with six other songwriting students. Tour highlights include singing the National Anthem at a Chicago Bulls Game, WGN radio and tv appearances, and performances in cities: Nashville, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, and Chicago including Chicago venue, Uncommon Ground. After graduating at Interlochen she attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA as a songwriting and music business management major. Sierra has performed at over 50 venues and festivals including the main stage at Bliss Festival (Cross Village, MI), The City of Arts and Sciences as part of the Berklee College of Music Lagos Concert Series (Valencia, Spain), and Leland Wine and Food Festival (Leland, MI). Other career highlights include receiving the Bliss Festival Scholarship for Lamb's Retreat for Songwriters and opening for award-winning poet Nicki Giovanni at City Opera House as part of National Writers Series (Traverse City, MI).
