Shona Rae brings a diverse background that include influences from country, folk and blues standards, 50’s rockabilly, 60’s rock & roll, 70’s punk and modern contemporary performers like Tom Waits. Shona honed her vocal styling and song writing in Vancouver and the BC interior before bringing her Mad Woman Extraordinaire persona to Calgary.
Herb Sawatzky’s guitar has sounds of surf, rockabilly and roots rock and roll. Herb counts Bo Diddley, Keith Richards, Rick Miller, Harvey Mandel, Scotty Moore, Luther Perkins, Dick Dale and the Ventures as some of his influences. Herb also is a member of the Calgary surf band The Bigfoot Rocketship.
Laurie Fuhr has been a fixture on the local Calgary Music community having been in the Pine Tarts, the Lonely Hunters, the Ogden Owls and the Night Committee and really anyone who needed a voice, bass or 6 string guitar to fill out their sound on any given night. Laurie also is a member of Mercury Audio as well as a solo performer of her own original material.
Rob Matthews drum education started in Toronto and counts anyone who has picked up drumsticks as an influence. His biggest challenge is maintaining the anchor to the 3 diverse and strong personalities listed above.
