“ShitOuttaLuck, at the very basic level, is a band after a very ambitious sound… the use of the horns brings the entire sound to the forefront, creating this full board tone, with plenty to pick out and pay attention to in the show… Katy, as a vocalist, is already working at a top level performance, with a very strong voice, a fireball personality…”

...a playful, rockin’ hybrid that toys with punk and metal but bares its soul when the horns come out. Fronted by vocalist Katy Bencik, whose strong voice is atypical of most ska singers and therefore the six-member band’s most distinct quality. - West Coast Performer Magazine, March 2005 Issue

Bio
ShitOuttaLuck formed through relationships forged in school and has served them well for many years. The name says it all - sardonic, sarcastic, ironic, - an "ic"ky band with a self-deprecating sense of humor and a dark, heavy sound that turns skacore on it's ear. S.O.L. likes it's music like it likes it's liquor - shaken, not stirred. Mixtures of Rock, Latin, Punk, Jazz, and 120 proof dancable ska (irresistibly danceable) underpinning. ShitOuttaLuck has appeared with The Planet Smashers, Big D and the Kids Table, The Aggrolites, Radio Noise, Let's Go Bowling, Big In Japan, Streetlight Manifesto, The Matches, Los Hooligans, Forces of Evil, Chris Murray, Dan Pothasst, The People, The Phenomenauts and others extensively in California and along the entire west coast. Influences include No Doubt, Mr. Bungle, Save Ferris, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Fishbone.
