"Pleasure - Album Preview"

Some bands are just so painfully bloody cool it hurts.

There will be those who sneer at She’s Hit: ‘I own all those albums by the Fall, Pere Ubu, Suicide, the Jesus and Mary Chain and The Cramps, too!’

To which I reply: ‘But if you haven’t found a way of taking your record collection, running with it and creating something that sounds fresh and as vital as they do…SHUT UP.’...

"Pleasure - Album Preview"

Gentlemen, start your engines. Glasgow's She's Hit take their name from a Birthday Party song and sound like they've been marinaded in engine oil, dirty drugs and Lux Interior's guitar case. Only the finest, most bottled up to explode psychobilly here, plus a wodge of Pere Ubu's approaching menace. - Sweeping The Nation

"CMJ: Sonicbids Spotlight"

She’s Hit hails from Glasgow and comes with a gritty swagger that made its way from the back alleys of post-punk into 2011. Playing since 2008 after bonding over the Cramps, She’s Hit got its name from a song by Australian post-punk band the Birthday Party. David Wilson fronts the Scottish quintet, his steel and slinky vocals punctuated by the cavernous and propulsive rhythm section of drummer Cammy Wilson and bassist Fraser McFadzean. Completing the atmosphere are guitarists Philip McLellan and Michael Hanson (also on synth), who add static and choppy chords to the mire. The end result is the sound of a murky heartbeat thumping through a distorted stethoscope... - CMJ.com

"The Hit Parade"

Fantastically energetic indie punk from a band who sound like the ungodly sons of The Cramps and the Jesus & Mary Chain. One day all bands will be made this way. - The Devil Has The Best Tuna

"She's Hit Unleash RE:PEATER Download & Video"

She's Hit Unleash 'Re:Peater' Download & Video Ahead of the Release of their Debut Album in May.

Glasgow's post-punk outfit She's Hit bring you a taster of their forthcoming debut album out in May, by unleashing the killer post-punk, art-rock audio assault that is album track 'RE:PEATER'.

Having already gained a loyal following on the blogosphere and high praise from tastemakers such as D.I.S - "spewing throb of clanging guitar and bombastic percussion, their nasal art-punk endeavours sneer out like The Fall sodomising The Cramps at their most ragged. Still wet behind the ears, but given the strength of their blistering live outings, She’s Hit will outlast the blogosphere’s hype." - She's Hit are undoubtedly ones to watch for 2011. - Subba Cultcha

"Thing Of The Day"

They’re from Glasgow, they’re called She’s Hit, the video is there, there’s a link to go download a taste off their forthcoming album just underneath the video. The debut album is out in May, no need for words today, you’ve got the video, you’ve got the music, you don’t need us saying things about how they sound like a Scottish Mark E.Smith fronting the Cramps or anything like that … - Organ

"Live Review - Captains Rest, Glasgow"

Smoke. Screeching, wailing guitars. A sonic assault on the senses. She's Hit have just walked in to the stage and let rip. No fanfare for this band. They barely pause between songs leaving no time for any applause. Hell, they barely acknowledge that there is an audience. They are the Jesus and Mary Chain reborn. Super cool in that way that only delinquents can be, She's Hit are the new bad boys in town. - Bluesbunny (Independent Music Reviews)

"RE:PEATER (single) - Review"

It’s back west for Single of the Fortnight, which goes to the flip-side of the maiden split-release from a new Glasgow indie label run by members of ‘dirty surf’ quintet She’S HiT, RE:PEATER Records.

She’S HiT’s own ‘RE:PEATER’ ???? (see what they did there?) is a blast of raw, trashy post-punk in honest thrall to The Fall. It’s great, but dastardly Maryhill rhythm’n’bluesmen Jacob Yates and the Pearly Gate Lock Pickers’ ‘Can’t Stop’ ????? is even better – all tumbling drums, twangy chords and plonking piano from the ex-Uncle John and Whitelock boys. They call it ‘doom-wop’, and who are we to argue? - The List

"RE:PEATER (single) - Review"

SHe’S HiT are a band that have neatly scythed elements of surf and garage rock to create a stunning sound; heavy on imposing reverb, the rawness of The Fall, Cramps-like jangling guitar and Iggy Pop/Stooges’ snarling apathy.‘RE:PEATER’ is so dirty you want to roll around in it in some display of base animalism. It’s unashamedly noisy but utterly irresistible, a fantastic song. - The 405

"RE:PEATER (single) - Review"

4 stars - Two of Scotland’s emerging bands go side-by-side with this split 7” single.

SHe’s HiT, on whose new label imprint this is released, lead off with ‘Re:peater,’ a massive wall of noise constructed from prefabricated slabs of Jesus and Mary Chain, Suicide and The Cramps. Shrill guitar, deep, pounding drums and mono-toned vocals drenched in reverb are the basic components. All that’s missing is the ASBO!
So what’s not to like?!

Jacob Yates & The Pearly Gate Lockpickers offer a complete contrast with ‘Can’t Stop’ - it’s a kind of ‘swamp stomp’ with Jacob’s rather menacingly growled vocals blending with the backing, kind of like a Glaswegian Dan Sartain.
So what’s not to like?!
- Artrocker

"Keep An Eye On: 10 Glasgow Bands"

So relentless is the slew of hyperbolic adjectives shat out by Scottish bloggers these days, most tips for the top need to be consumed alongside a shovel of sodium chloride. But with visceral quartet She’s Hit the purple prose spouting posse have definitely hit the button. A spewing throb of clanging guitar and bombastic percussion, their nasal art-punk endeavours sneer out like The Fall sodomising The Cramps at their most ragged. Still wet behind the ears, they’re only one split single (halved with Jacob Yates’ Pearly Gates outfit) into their fledgling career but, given the strength of their blistering live outings, She’s Hit will outlast the blogosphere’s hype - Drowned In Sound

Bio

She's Hit formed in late 2008 when four high school friends discovered a mutual love of the Cramps while listening to a compilation album at a house party.

2010 was a good year for the band - they were featured in Artrocker magazine's 'New Blood' section, played supports for The Dead Weather, Thee Oh Sees, Crocodiles, Sons & Daughters and Eighties matchbox B-Line Disaster, in October they released their debut single to positive reviews and in December they were named as one of 10 Scottish bands to watch by Drowned In Sound.

2011 has started well with a headline slot at King Tut's New Years Revolution, several gigs outside of Glasgow and confirmation that they will be supporting Kid Congo Powers (Nick Cave, The Cramps, The Gun Club) in April and playing this years Stag & Dagger festival in May.

The band have set-up their own label, RE:PEATER Records, in order to release their debut album, Pleasure, on May 23rd. As well as the studio record the package will include a bonus album featuring remixes from some of Scotland's best artists: Errors, Remember Remember, LuckyMe Collective and The Unwinding Hours among others.

This release will be preceded by a single, Shimmer Shimmer, on May 9th. All releases are being promoted and distributed nationally.
