Shelley Therrien

My influences are endless, but consist mostly of artists who emphasize songwriting quality rather than production tricks or fashion sense. Some examples are groups and musicians like Bob Dylan, Sarah McLachlan, Ani DiFranco, Elliott Smith, The Arcade Fire, and Feist.

I am set apart from other singer-songwriters by my unique voice which can go from soft and pretty to low and raspy.

I began playing guitar at the age of 11 and after playing in several metal/punk/grunge bands starting writing my own songs and trying to sing at 15. After a year of playing at small venues in my area I recorded my first record of original material at Cross Current Records in my hometown of Waterford, Ontario. I've sold nearly 200 copies in the area and to friends and music lovers worldwide. I am currently working on new material and planning my next record. I love to jam with other musicians and expand my songwriting abilities.
