"Serena Andrews Gets Swanky From The Closet"

"...terrific album! It’s a mere 34 minutes out of your life, and you’ll be glad you spent it with Serena.” - In Your Speakers

"Serena Andrews Resistance"

“This is a fun record that seems like it was made over the course of months, not days. The songs are rich, catchy as the flu, and sound like a million bucks. It’s great stuff.

Aurally, the record is kind of all over the place while sitting on top of a glitch-base. It’ bleeps and bloops and then works it’s way between your ears with ease. It’s energetic stuff that rides high on Serena’s rather adorable voice while covering cover everything from existence itself to love and missed phone calls.” - The Pop Stereo

"Serena Andrews"

“Her fresh release, Phoenix, is a power-packed 11-song semi-autobiographical journey through coming of age, death and rebirth… and while that sounds heavy, it satisfies with forward-pressing beats and synthy orchestration. From the elastic ballad “Fearless” to the romping anthem “Kid Heroes” and “Beautiful Story” an entrancing mid-tempo torch song, Andrews does not disappoint.” - LowLife, Inc.

"Serena Andrews - Phoenix"

"A fresh face on the indie electro-pop scene, Serena Andrews delivers an 11 track album full of soul and graceful melodies. She's also released remix elements under the moniker "Stems" volumes 1,2, and 3. A certain recipe for massive remixes and mash-ups to come. Serena is setting a deadline of November 20th [extended til Dec 31st] for this current remix contest, so producers get on this! Just go to her site to check out all kinds of links remixing tracks and making videos!" - OMFG - Atlanta

"Serena Andrews: The Interview"

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

"Here is a woman that Nerdy Frames seriously can’t stop raving about; a beautiful, talent young woman called Serena Andrews. Funny how things come together when doing this interview and the events beforehand that transpired to this point.

We were doing some press for Low Life Inc which had Serena Andrews’s in the subject line, attached with a very cute photo Serena and of course curiosity got the better of me and I researched her. This of course led to myself buying her album on Bandcamp and checking out her V-log performances on Youtube..."

"Serena Andrews-Phoenix"

Excerpt from album review for "Phoenix" -

"From the closet in her apartment to the Nerdy Frames blog it is our pleasure to introduce Serena Andrews from New York making what I reckon is the best contemporary indie pop that would put some major label signed artists to questionable shame...." - Nerdy Frames Blog

Bio

I was born and raised in Maine where I studied music and art since I can remember. I went on to pursue music at the University of Maine, but quit in the first year to chase after a pop career which led me to Providence, RI where I lived on and off for nearly 12 years. In 2010, I moved to New York to grow my career and take the leap, so to speak.

I'm influenced by Radiohead, Ratatat, Cake, Chromeo, Hot Chip, as well as 80s & New Wave music. In 2010, I finished production on "Phoenix" an 11-track album of original material. Then in spring 2011, I released a 10-track concept album called "Do Not Resist" - sort of pop-electro / indie-dance crossover with a lot of piano, vocals and synth. It was submitted to the RPM Challenge, which urges musicians to write and record a record in under 28 days. Awesome experience. Both records came out on my DIY label, Dream Siren Records and can be found on Bandcamp and iTunes et al.

Lately, I've been working to create a high energy live electronic set out of these studio tracks. I'm excited to be living my passion. I hope you enjoy the music that has come as a result of it!
