Bio
“The actual writing of song comes in the form of a realization. I can’t contrive a song.” Quote from Gene Clark of The Byrds.
When you hear the music from “The Legend of April Country” written and performed by Sean Hutton, you will come to the realization that these songs are unconventional.
You will be hearing the singular sound that comes from an artist who has their own vision, their own vibe, their own style.
Before we start thinking "experimental tedium", the songs are highly melodic, deeply lyrical with an abundance of hooks. They rock their own vibe.
In today’s world of "indie music" it appears that artistry has been removed. There are so many who want to sound like The Beatles, Bowie, or other artists from the past., influence-rock lacking originality. The top artists of the past had their influences but took it upon themselves to create a sound that was strictly theirs, maybe using a riff or two from past musicians. They used their talents as artists to create a vision.
Sean’s vision for his album “The Legend Of April Country” has brought that back artistry and a unique style that is not a part of any genre today. If you had to find a possible genre to fit his music into, it would be singer-songwriter or perhaps folk-rock but, that makes it sound boring, this is fresh and exciting. There's lots of rule-breaking here and the songs often go to many unexpected places.
Sean’s individualistic styling of his songs carries heart, soul and creativity that is missing in today’s music. Fans who have listened to the album have noticed that even the long songs go by quickly and they want to go back and listen again.
With the saturation of today’s music world, it is hard to open up a link or put in a CD a file and think “oh no, it's another hack musician wasting my time ” BUT with Sean's music you will find yourself turning up the volume, nodding your head, tapping the table or toes, even your heart strings will be pulled on a few songs!
I dare you to find any comparison to artists of today’s music to this album and come back to us and tell us so! Listen, compare and let us know what you think!
