Bio
Following the success of their first, full-length CD entitled Here We Go! the popular childrens musical entertainment group Scotty and the Stars have released their highly anticipated, follow-up CD called Making Music.
This musical duo of Scott Sampson and Andy Cotter provide a live theatrical and musical experience where children march, stomp, clap and dance their way through this interactive and fun-filled musical journey. The childrens musical entertainment group delivers positive messages, active participation and musical education through original music and enthusiastic live performances.
Their first, full-length recording Here We Go! was nominated for an East Coast Music Award for Childrens Recording of the Year. Both CDs and energetic live shows have been met with high acclaim solidifying Scotty and the Stars as the Maritimes premiere childrens entertainment group.
The idea for a childrens band was inspired by years of teaching, coaching and working with children of all age levels. As trained educators with teaching degrees, Scott and Andy taught in both public and private sectors of the education system. This natural connection to children made composing kids songs a life-changing transition for the duo.
The Stars perform original songs that are educational, interactive, and even silly at times, creating music for young and old alike. This rock-based childrens music is layered with positive messages of helping each other out, being active, working together, and enjoying every aspect of life.
The recent release of Making Music is an exciting step for Scotty and the Stars as they expand their music across North America and pursue a career in childrens musical entertainment.
