The Sara Thacker Band

What do you get when you put a digital strategist, a bank manager, a TV marketer and a professional massage therapist together in one room?

The Sara Thacker Band…obviously! Soulful pop, rock and blues for grown-ups!

Deep into his professional life but unable to quell his desire to rock, Steve (digital strategist and guitar whiz) met Sara (bank manager and hobby singer) playing in a cover band. Having recorded and toured the old fashioned way, Steve immediately recognized Sara’s unique vocal talent. They decided to get together to see if any musical sparks would fly.

Lightning struck and soon they had written enough material to warrant a rhythm section. Steve placed a Craigslist ad for “pro-level weekend warriors that have other lives but are serious about their music.”

Enter Tony (TV marketer and drummer) and Nick (professional massage therapist and bass player). Tony had recorded and toured in his…um…younger days, but finally found bliss (i.e. stability) in the marketing arm of a “tied-for-third-is-not-fourth-place” TV network. To this day he is the only producer in TV history to keep a pair of sticks under his desk so he can practice paradiddles during conference calls. Nick was just finishing massage therapy school because — despite playing and touring in numerous bands throughout the Pacific Northwest — massage therapy pays a lot more than unsigned bands!

Together, in spite of their busy personal and professional lives, Steve, Sara, Tony and Nick formed a bond and a vibe that is genuinely greater than the sum of its parts. They honed their songs and their chemistry playing out in the clubs of Venice, and recently recorded their debut album “Falling Apart,” an emotional look at relationships, alcohol and the courage it takes to do the right thing.

The Sara Thacker Band is real music made by professionals who devote all their free time to making music. They don’t do it because they dream of a record deal… they do it because they love playing and couldn’t imagine their lives without it.
