Bio
In support of her independent CD release The Ladder, pop singer-songwriter Sara Haze started the year out with performances in Toronto at Canadian Music Week (CMW) that also led to a booking at Berlin's POPKOMM fest in October 2008. At CMW she was joined on stage by Grammy® Award winning producer/songwriter Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette, No Doubt , Dave Matthews). In July 2008 Troy Blakely, Senior Vice President and Managing Partner of APA in Los Angeles, signed Haze who will be represented by the company's Concert Touring Department, for national bookings.
The Ladder tour has also included several gigs in Nashville, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, New York and Texas with an extra stop at the New York / CMJ offices for an acoustic showcase, and Houston for the Microsoft World Partners Convention at the Astrodome. Sara has also Headlined such premier Southern California concert clubs as the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano and The Key Club in Hollywood. College Concerts up and down the California coast are currently being being booked.
In live performance, Haze continues to attract fans and industry alike with her powerful voice and strong stage presence, whether fronting a high energy band that includes Lisa Lui on electric violin, or playing solo at her piano.
ASCAP has hosted successful showcases for Haze in Los Angeles, New York and Nashville that has led to her to work with top hit songwriters. In addition, Haze is working with producer/guitarist Eric Fraley on her co-write with Glen Ballard entitled "Tattooed On Me," slated as a single release on iTunes later this year.
Sara Haze had already amassed a catalogue of songs featured in TV and film by the time she signed with PEN Music Group, Inc. (penmusic.com) for publishing and licensing representation. PEN's Michael Eames introduced her to Heather Holley and Rob Hoffman of Elicit Music (Christina Aguilera, Quincy Jones, Sheryl Crow) and Haze recorded three masters with them that ended up on The Ladder. Eames is currently shopping Haze's new material for additional placements in television and film. Critics say 2009 looks to be her "breakout year."
