As it starts you can hear something with possibility. Sandie Trash is the vocalist in front of brilliant electroniker simply called X. She bounces back and forth between, kurt blasts of grrly sneers, sultry coos, and grating, shrieking vocals. There's a punk rock spirit to her urgent delivery and attitude, so when paired with their photos make me think this would be a great band to see live. Sandie Trash uses samples from some well known pop, punk and alternative bands spanning the decades (was that a Portishead guitarline? could be, each song has a line you'll recognize in an instant or plumb your brains for the name), which is where their sound gets interesting. They create new songs using these riffs that are ingrained into all of our heads, adding them to their own structures to make a hybrid song in a way like a remix, but altogether different, using her own lyrics. The end result is a sort of trip-hop punk. And if that weren't enough to catch your interest, they don't stop at using radio-hits, but then there's a familiar Nick Cave excerpt. Still didn't catch your ear? How about when they take a Christian Death song and add it to the mixery? This is where the possibilities explode, considering endless possibilities of influences that are explored in a more direct and honest way, re-worked and referenced, while still creating something completely original. Sandie Trash comes through with a brilliant idea and brings something new to the stage and stereo. ..> - mark splatter
German review / Filles Fragiles !
Various Artists: Filles Fragilles – Pop Gems From French Demoiselles (Sonic Scenery/ZYX, VÖ. 18.01.2008)

Merci!
