"Sabrina isn't short on talent. A fantastic guitar player, singer, show woman and songwriter...her songs are honest and very approachable. It's pop music, but with a bit of extra flavour and flair. Sometimes pop music gets a bad wrap but there's nothing fabricated or plastic about her music." - Bradley Owens
"the Toronto-based singer songwriter possesses a raw, quintessential, honest sound which incorporates elements of Pop and Brazilian rhythm. Whilst there was a quite strong reminiscence to Ed Sheeran’s Folk-tinged Pop style, her fast paced vocal deliveries in the verse proved that she has approached her sound with the desire to create something prodigal and fresh. And that’s exactly what you’re treated to with Plan A" - Amelia Vandergast
"...Among those artists that seem most likely to be among the cream that rises from the maelstrom of such events to actually establish enduring careers are a couple of young female songwriters who have been making a mark on the local scene over the past little while." - Gary17
"A stand out quality heard within Sabrina's music is the real sense of artistry along with the elements of soul that are so obvious when listening to her music" - The OB Blog
"It’s not uncommon for solo artists to struggle a little to fill the stage and grasp control of a room... However, Soares absolutely smashed the set with her ridiculously catchy tunes, choruses and hooks” - The AU Review
"...A performance by Sabrina Soares that was ethereal yet uplifting, earnest but sassy..." - scenestr
"Great voice and impressive songwriting..." - Dave Ruby Howe
"She incorporates country, modern pop, even spoken-word rap in a style that defies easy genre references." - City of Sydney
..."singer-songwriter Sabrina Soares is going from strength to strength..." - The South Sydney Herald

Bio
It’s not just anybody who packs up everything and moves to the other side of the world on their own to follow their dreams… That is, unless you are Sabrina Soares.
In just over a year since booking herself a one-way ticket from Sydney, Australia, she has already generated a lot of buzz in the Toronto music scene. From busking the streets, to performing at notable festivals (including Kensington Jazz Festival, Canadian Indie Week, Taste of the Danforth, Winterfolk Festival), Sabrina has already accomplished what other note-worthy artists around the city would take several years to do.
Most acclaimed yet, Sabrina was selected to participate in the Honey Jam Artist Development Program. The program fosters young women in music (notable alum includes Nelly Furtado, Melanie Fiona, and Jully Black) and this year it concluded with a sold-out concert held at the Mod Club Theatre.
Mixing sincere and relatable diary-entry style lyrics with exceptional self-taught guitar playing, Sabrina’s debut EP “Plan A” is a hooky, hip-swiveling nod to pop, jazz, country and the funky Brazilian rhythms that colour her unique heritage.
In her own words, Sabrina describes, “This record is about breaking through the constraint of needing a backup plan to do what it is you REALLY want to do. To let go of certain thoughts or memories holding you back; to have absolutely no idea where you’re going, yet willing to go beyond comfort to experience the ‘new’. That’s the Plan A."
Now in the process of writing for her next record, Sabrina is incorporating more sounds of R&B, influenced by artists such as Lauryn Hill, Jhené Aiko, and Drake.
She’s only got a Plan A: she’s all in, and you will be too.
