"Packing a Punch"

Rude Punch is a Davenport-based band that spikes it's punch with a good dose of Reggae Music. Bands like Sublime and 311 are among the influences of the band which formed 6 months ago from 3/4 of the band "Seed". "We want to give them something that's totally new and what we want" Jager said. "so many bands are trying to be this or that to please somebody, but we're going to be what we want." - Quad City Times

"punch drunk love"

...Sounding tight and well-rehearsed, the band played a smoking set on November 17th, opening for Chicago Afrobeat Project at the Redstone Room. In front of a packed house, the band delivered at least a half a dozen original songs, as well as a cover of Sublime's "Santeria" that showcased Jager's uncanny vocal resemblance to that band's late singer, Bradley Nowell...... - River City Reader

With their first national tour behind them, the members of the Quad-City rock-reggae band Rude Punch are excited.
"It's gone over surprisingly well," singer and lead guitarist Brady Jager said. "We figured we'd do good, but at a lot of the places we played at, people were so shocked at the music we were playing and how good we were playing it.
"They're surprised how three white boys from Iowa figured out this sound so easily."
Rude Punch's month-long tour took the band from Clinton, Iowa, to St. Louis to central Florida, and across the Midwest to Denver, where they were recording in a hotel room during a telephone interview.
"There's more money-spending than we predicted, but other than that our shows are good," Jager said. "We're all loving seeing the country at such a quick pace. At this point, the end of the tour, it seems like it's been three months when it's only been one month."
Alan Sweet, who joined the band in the spring as its bass player, said he'd been on tour with the band Strange Neighbors for a few weeks in Minnesota, but nothing this extensive.
And nothing as surprising to the people who heard it.
"It's a weird thing when people asked, ‘You guys listen to reggae music in Iowa?' " Sweet said. "I'd say, ‘Yeah, we don't have the beach and the beautiful weather like they do all the time, so we need to visit it somehow.' "
The band concludes its tour with a headlining gig Friday night at the Redstone Room, inside the River Music Experience, downtown Davenport.
They've already talked with promoters about returning to Florida in November to play for a surfing championship. There has been a chance to sightsee, including watching the space shuttle Atlantis take off from Cape Canaveral, Fla., and on-the-road tales of encounters with wild alligators.
But it's mostly given them affirmation.
"It gives us a taste of what we want to do with our lives, sort of an internship," drummer Adam Tucker said. "It gives us a taste of what life on the road is like."

Bio

Rude Punch is a Reggae/Rock band heavily influenced by Sublime, Bob Marley, 311, Slightly Stoopid and Pepper. Reggae with a hard edge best describes their vibe but don't pigeon-hole this power trio as they continue to reinvent themselves and their music.

Brady is the lead vocalist and guitar front man. His vocals are clean and clear and he delivers the lyrics with power and grace. His versatility on the guitar bodes well for the band's wide range of influences, from Reggae to Ska to Rock and Roll.

Adam is behind the drums and is a perfect fit for the band. Very talented and naturally gifted, Adam is the backbone of the band and provides a solid percussional foundation to each song as well as sing back up on many cuts.

Alan is the glue that keeps everything together with his bass lines, ranging from old school Reggae to high energy alternative with ease, style and confidence. His amazing voice blends perfectly with Brady and the result is heaven. His presence is essential to the bands success.

Rude Punch is a band that is trully unique with blends of many influences, determined to spread their vibe around the world. Listen to their music or go to a show and watch them perform. Rude Punch will give you a feeling you won't soon forget.
