With dynamics and drive Toronto/Montreal’s Royal Creatures is at the same time big and intense, ambient and distorted. Slow, reverb and delay-laden parts give way to heart-stopping heaviness; dark unstable verses burst into melodic choruses. Royal Creatures released their debut 4-song EP in July 2013, will be putting out a 7″ in Spring of 2014 and are working on their debut full-length. Their EP artwork and music were selected out of hundreds to be featured on Canadian craft brewer, Collective Arts Brewing’s flagship Rhyme & Reason Extra Pale Ale in the Fall of 2013. The bottles, which are still available across Canada feature a Blippar app scanable EP cover graphic that takes beer lovers to the band’s music, bio and videos.

Toronto punk-rock band, Royal Creatures, are up-and-comers who really know how to tear down a show with their heavy guitar-laden sounds. They have also been known to pack a room at this year’s Canadian Music Week and appear on a certain beer label.
Royal Creatures is composed of Maurice Gatto, Dan Racicot, Derek Lewis and Scott Birke. These four guys have been playing across Southern Ontario since the beginning, establishing (growing) fan bases in Guelph, Ajax and Oshawa aside from Toronto. Full of energy and intense sounds, their self-titled EP is not recommended for the faint of heart, but rather for a night of hard partying Andrew WK-style.
Here’s a little piece of news for fans of our Series One Artists; an early holiday gift, if you will: Royal Creatures just recorded two new songs which they’re releasing on a 7-inch in the new year! They’ve also just been accepted into CMW in May. 2014 will be a big year.

The super cool Toronto scene cover art of their Royal Creatures EP (that appears on our Series One labels) was done art director and graphic designer, David Amos.
(SIDE NOTE) Royal Creatures was featured on Canadian brewery Collective Arts Brewing’s flagship beer, Rhyme & Reason Extra Pale Ale, in the fall of 2013 after being selected from hundreds of applicants. Using Blippar, beer lovers from across Canada can scan the EP artwork on the beer's label to listen to and connect with the band. - Collective Arts
