January 2012 Update: The band's latest single "Shelter" was named one of the top 30 songs of 2011 on Sirius XM The Pulse among artists such as Adele, Train, Maroon 5, OAR, and The Script. The song is currently in the Top 15 Countdown as well.
The Summer of 2011 brought great things for the band such as performing with ZZ Top, 38 Special, Jonny Lang, Blues Traveler, Max Creek, Country Legend George Jones, and radio airplay on Sirius XM's The Pulse.
This is a band to watch for, an established and proven band sitting just slightly under the radar. With their best effort yet, they won’t be for long.
Formed in rural Concord, New Hampshire, the Ron Noyes Band fuses roots rock grooves and descriptive instrumentation with lyrics that “will freeze the blood in your veins” (Hawick News). The Ron Noyes Band grew into one of New England’s most acclaimed and talked about acts while their release “Something Else” was listed at #8 in Jam Magazine's list of the Top 100 Albums to come out of New England in the last decade. In the U.S. alone, the band has been on 100+ radio stations from Maine to California. The Ron Noyes Band (Guitarist and Summa Cum Laude Berklee graduate Jarrod Taylor, bassist Chuck Tufankjian and drummer Mike Moran) also garnered international radio play and acclaim with their sound that is touted on-air in 12 countries, landing them on the European Americana Charts.
In 2009, John Popper (Blues Traveler) received a copy of RNB’s “Come Hell or High Water” and sought out the band's performance that night, showing up with his harmonicas ready to play. He and Noyes established a relationship and stayed in contact, paving the way for future collaboration. Seeing their underground success and recognizing the band’s potential, Round Cat Records soon signed them to their first record deal in 2010. Round Cat and the band went quickly to work, leading to the band’s current release, “Dust Bowl Diary”, the band’s strongest effort yet. Hearing rough cuts, John Popper quickly jumped on board and added a ferocious harmonica performance, as only he can, to the track “Last To Know.” After hearing an unmixed preview of the song, his review was an enthusiastic “You Killed It!” On “Dust Bowl Diary,” Noyes continues to advance his craft, penning some of the most brutally honest and compelling lyrics around.
