Bio
From Chticamp, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Ronald Bourgeois has been a promoter and defender of Acadian music and culture since the early 80s. Inspired by his Acadian roots and life in Atlantic Canada, Ronald is regarded by his peers as one of Acadies top songwriters. His award-winning songs are found in almost every Acadian artists repertoire. Surot, Blou, Lina Boudreau and Patrick Verbeke, among others, have recorded Ronald Bourgeois songs. Ronald has also co-written songs with Lennie Gallant, multi award-winning Canadian Singer-Songwriter and Scott MacMillan. Ronald has two recordings Amne le vent (1994) and Le long retour (2001) and has performed throughout Canada and France. Shades of the blues, country and folk music, mixed with a warm, powerful vocal, strong lyrics and engaging personality characterize a Ronald Bourgeois performance.
