Research Material

Research Material is a four piece band hailing from Los Angeles. Their infectious alternative pop catches your ear and doesn’t let go. On a side note, what other type of music is described as infectious? I kind of find it funny that we only use the adjective to describe pop as if it were a disease. Back to today’s band, Research Material is made up of Mike Getches, Ryan Hassell, Adam Burnett, and Fred Esquivel. They’ve been building a following in SoCal.

I thought long and hard about featuring Secrets because it hit home for me. You can stream it at Bandcamp, which is linked below. I chose All Year Round because it shows a highly polished band that is ready for radio. Plus, you can download it for free (read a little further to find out how). They’re a bit of a throwback to earlier this decade in some musical sense. On the other hand, you may hear some electro influence from Owl City and today’s music.

Basically for those that love Say Anything or Motion City Soundtrack, this is another band you should check out.
