Q. How did the project come into existence?
A. Richard had started a band which was basically a revolving door of musicians. I heard a demo and I was in. I loved it and thought it suited my style perfectly. Pete had just moved out from New Jersey and found us through a classified. His dirty American guitar sound and style really created that final element to define the identity of the band.
Q.Who are the members of the band if any and please tell us about it?
A. Richard Schroeder (bass and vocals) Peter Mpoigatzis (guitar and back up vocals) Nick Fasone (drums and back up vocals). You couldn't ask for a more perfect blend of styles and personalities to create our baby which is our music. Something different derived from a cornucopia of familiar influences.
Q How would you describe your sound/genre?
A. It has been described as hard rock/grunge with an old school metal edge. People have noted Alice in Chains, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, Guns N' Roses, Faith No More and Helmet as far as hearing musical familiarities in our songs. We hope to broaden that list as our career develops.
Q. What formal training or previous experience do any of the members have?
A. Richard has been in bands since he was 15 years old. He has played in hard rock and metal bands. He also loves classical music and has developed a range vocally that I challenge any rock singer to match. Pete was in a death metal band in NJ. He gained his influence from James Hetfield mainly. He is as good as they come as a rhythm guitarist. If you listen the the song "Philthy" you will hear his ability to create American riffs using odd time. I (Nick) Came out of the 90's punk scene playing around Hollywood at the Whiskey, Opium den and the Roxy.
Q. Are you working w/ a producer on your upcoming album?
A. We are producing this first album ourselves. We want to come out with a pure rock album that doesn't sound produced, yet doesn't sound like we did it in our garage.
Q. Who would you say has been the biggest influence on the bands sound or that you have used as inspiration for your music?
A. Vocally I would say Lane Staley (RIP), Axl Rose and Scott Weiland. Pete notes James Hetfield as his idol to date. I guess you could hear a little Danny Kerry and Josh Freese in the drumming.
Q.What advice would you give to others starting out?
A. We are starting out ourselves. So I will tell them what I tel myself. Don't let your God given talent go to waste. If you are truly passionate about music then let it rule you and drive you. I would also say, always look for ways to improve. Don't be satisfied with good enough.
Q. Where can people go to learn more about you and hear your music?
A. Check out our website @ www.refusenoday.com . We have songs up from our demo that you could check out. We are also played on indie 104 iradiola.
Q. If you could play anywhere in the world or with anyone you wanted where and who would it be with?
A. We would love to tour the world with Alice in Chains or Metallica. I would jump at the chance to pick the brains of those guys. I would say Rush but they don't use openers anymore.
Q. What has been your greatest experience so far either individually or as a whole?
A. I would say winning the battle of the bands and playing the music equals life rockfest with Days of the New, Green Jelly, Prong and Texas Hippie Coalition.
Q. Do you have any upcoming events or news you would like to tell our readers about?
A. We are currently writing some more somgs before we record our album. We are excited to bestow it upon audiences early 2011!
Q. Where do you see yourselves or hope to be in about 5 years?
A. Hopefully at the fore front of changing the focus from popular (car commercial) music back to real, dirty, hard American rock and roll. - AJ&DBS

Refuse No Day is a So Cal Band which was formed in January 2010. Richard sought out to fulfill his vision of assembling a band which utilized his vocal influences from the early 90’s which include:
Layne Staley, Axl Rose, Scott Weiland and James Hetfield.
Nick answered a classified add for a drummer wanted by (Ride Of Fire) at that time. Nick had started out as a punk drummer in the late 90’s, but always loved metal and grunge. Right after the tryout Richard accepted Nick into the band as they both felt the excitement of what was to come.
After the original guitarist disappeared, Refuse No Day posted a classified add answered by Pete. Pete had just moved to Southern California from New Jersey to find a serious band to join. After the tryout, Pete was immediately accepted into the band and completed the line up.
Refuse No Day has performed with bands like Days of the New, Prong, Green Jelly, Texas Hippie Coalition, and The Fabulous Miss Wendy. Has performed in many venues such as, The Whiskey, Roxy, Knitting Factory, Key club, Angel's Roadhouse, Angel's Roadhouse #2, Angel's Sports Bar, The SlideBar, Sage Lounge, The National Orange Show, the Tiki Room, 51 Buckingham, Marquis Lounge, The Airliner, and many others.
All three members were anxious to get the project rolling and started to collaborate on songs. Within a few months of meeting each other, Refuse No Day had written and recorded their first demo. With their collective influences of bands like: Metallica, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Helmet, Guns n’ Roses and Black Sabbath, They had created an album which seemingly stripped rock n’ roll to its core and exposed it in it’s rawest form.
